Lindsay Lohan Poses Nude As Marilyn Monroe

In what is likely her greatest role to date, Lindsay Lohan plays Marilyn Monroe between the sheets – literally – in the new spring fashion issue of New York magazine.

Recreating Monroe's legendary 1962 final photo shoot for Bert Stern with the veteran lensman himself, Lohan posed for the spread on Feb. 5 at the Hotel Bel-Air.

When it came to being nude before the camera, "I was comfortable with it," says Lohan, 21 (Monroe was 36 in 1962, the year she died) – though Lindsay does admit to having done "250 crunches" the night before the shoot.

There was also no avoiding the parallels between Monroe's tragic fate – dead from an accidental overdose of prescription medicines – and that, recently, of Heath Ledger's.

"They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone," says Lohan.

When it is pointed out to Lohan, who has been in rehab three times, that the possibility may exist of a similar fate for her, the young actress replies with a tinge of annoyance: "I don't know. I'm not them. But I sure as hell wouldn't let it happen to me."

I remember back in the 90's Madonna did a few pics in some fashion magazine (I still have it) where she was nude and also had breast shots. One page was practically BOOBS! Mind you, I know it is Madonna we are talking abt, but the fact these pics were in a fashion magazine blew me away. I was not prepared for those kind of pics. :eek:

New York magazine managed to get LiLo in a state of undress usually reserved for more intimate moments by using those three little words that make any starlet strip down: Marilyn Monroe re-creation.

Donning a voluminous wig, winged eyeliner and, uh, not much else, La Lohan revisited the famed "Last Sitting" photo shoot with the very same photographer that captured the intimate moments of the screen legend just six weeks before she was found dead.

Never mind the eerie parallels that can be drawn between the two voluptuous actresses or that we can't figure out why Lindsay is on the cover of every magazine right now promoting absolutely nothing. The real issue here is real or fake, of course! (And you know what we're talking about.)

But maybe you just want to enjoy the pics, and please, do so. We're guessing whatever magazine spread we may find Lindsay in next week will feature more clothes.

The lighting is very harsh, making those normally cute freckles look almost sickly, and that face just isn't sexy at all.

Exactly, however, recreating something like the Marilyn Playboy shoot is extremely difficult, so the fact that he got that is remarkable.
Part of it, however, is Lohans perception of sexy which isn't what would be considered sexy back in Marilyns day. She was probably going for the "turned on" look, but maybe she was a little nervous and it showed up in the picture.

Also, Lindsay's skin is fairer than Marilyn was, so the light should have been fine tuned to flatter in this case, not to be an exact copy. It would have been nice to see a different variation instead of an cookie cutter copy of the pervious shoot.

True. It would be wrong for him to do that though, that would be telling Lindsay and those with freckles that they aren't cute or sexy. I will say that colored pic with her holding up that sheer cloth is absolutely beautiful. Now that is a nice picture. :thumbsup: I prefer how the colored pics of her look over the black and white shots.

Lindsay Lohan's nude pictorial in the current issue of New York magazine has received the stamp of approval from her manager-mom Dina.

"It was very tastefully done," Dina tells PEOPLE of the photos, a recreation of Marilyn Monroe's legendary 1962 photo shoot shot by Bert Stern. "I respect the photographer as an artist, so I look at them artistically. For him to call Lindsay 46 years later and to say can you recreate these photos is an honor. I looked at it as art, and as Lindsay doing a character. So I don't look at them like it's Playboy; she was being a character. So if you look at it that way, you can look at it as a mother."

And Dina adds that had the photos been inappropriate, Lindsay's sister Ali would not have visited the set. "Trust me," Dina tells PEOPLE, "I wouldn't have sent my 14-year-old to the set [if the shoot was in bad taste]. And obviously Lindsay wouldn't do anything with her sister there, that was risqué."

Lindsay, 21, also viewed the shoot as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Dina tells PEOPLE.

"Lindsay was very excited when she first got the phone call," says Dina, 45. "Of course we talked about how they would be done. Lindsay said, 'Mommy, I'm never going to get this opportunity to do it again.' She was very thankful she was asked."

And being a Monroe fan, only made Lohan even more determined to do the shoot.

"She's always loved Marilyn," Dina says. "For Christmas, my girlfriends even gave her a Marilyn cookie jar. I think there's a sadness that Lindsay feels for Marilyn. Lindsay really saw it as a gift back to someone."

But Lindsay made sure she was in tip-top shape for the shoot. "Lindsay did 250 crunches before because she was nervous since she had never done anything like that before," Dina says.

As for Lindsay's other projects, Dina says Lindsay is busy recording her third album. "I've heard a couple of tracks," Dina says. "They were amazing!"

Marilyn Monroe was murdered. Heath died of an overdose. There are no parallels.



As for the pictures. I think it's a shame. I'm thinking this guy just wants his name in the paper's again so what better way to do that then to "recreate" Marilyn's last shoot. I don't like it. I have nothing against Lindsay but if he wanted to recreate Monroe's shoot what an awful choice! Physically her face/body/skin couldn't look more different and there's little to nothing about her life that mimicks Marilyn's. And I'm sorry (I know everyone seems to think the pictures were beautiful) but the pictures look horrible! I'm not sure how Bert think's they're anything alike... I guess he's confused.

With all that said I WILL admit that as a lifelong Marilyn Monroe fan I don't like or see the point of "recreating" anything she did BUT if for some far off reason they do I would expect them to use the best person available and IMO that just isn't Lindsay.

If he truly wanted to recreate that shoot he should of used -Susan Griffiths- She recreated Monroe's last shoot during Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" performance and was stunning! She really has a good resemblance and definitely has Marilyn's mannerisms down pat.

I'm sorry but those pictures are making me physically ill! I used to think Lindsay Lohan was adorable back when she did "Parent Trap". It seemed that she was headed in the right direction (as far as being a "normal" teenager is concerned), but then she hit rock bottom.

She looks nothing like Marilyn Monroe (and I resent the comment about her looking 40 because that's how old I am... well until the 15th that is!:lol: !!!), and I don't think any of them are flattering. Marilyn was much prettier!
