If you want to watch a network that has a different schedule every night, thsi is the one to go to-LOL. I'm so sick of all these preemptions. And it's all because of the High School Reunion, which I already hate.
What about the TV Land Awards? I thought they were airing in April.
Wow, they sure are confusing.....seems like a big jumble of Sanford and Son, I Love Lucy, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Andy Griffith airing at odd times. These stunts and marathons are confusing.

You can't get more confusing than this. I don't understand why they have to have all these encores, lead-ins, and preemptions. Why not just air the original in 1 timeslot, quit with the lead-ins, and maybe an encore or 2 on the weekends? It would make for lot-less jumbled schedule.

These people running TVLand obviously do not know how to make a regular schedule anymore.
Well, it does look like TBH is doing well, which is good. I hope Hogan's Heroes does the same.

Yea after he suckered everybody to watch that network. The only reason they got put on cable channels was because it was a classic tv network. If people had a choice to what channels they could get maybe he'd change his mind.

There is NO LOGICAL REASON to change a format that worked great before. It all comes down to MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...yeah, the old mighty dollar. To hell with the viewers. Are you really believing that pile of sh*t they call "reasons" Solomon?

Then they should make a whole other channel called TVLand 2 and show programming from 1990 to the present. And leave TVland for the classics. I cannot believe that sponsors are not paying good money to air their commercials on their channel. Also, if they are losing money, it was because they started showing that reality sh*t like CHASING FARRAH and other stuff that is not classic. I bet that is when the execs realized it.

Their focus is to Baby Boomers (what they watched in the past (like I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith) and what they watch now on TV (EM: Home Edition, Just Shoot Me)). That is clearly stated now.

They had to move it because of the strike. They usually start promoting it in early January, but since the strike was on then, they decided to move it. The awards show will be Sunday, June 15 this year.

TV Land Shows the World That 40 is Fabulous With Premiere of Newest Original Series, 'The Big 4-0' on April 16 at 10 PM (ET/PT)
Six-Episode Reality Series Documents Real People Celebrating Their 40th Birthdays in Extraordinary Ways
NEW YORK, March 25 -- TV Land redefines what it means to be 40 when it premieres "The Big 4-0" on April 16 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). This new original series -- which debuts with back-to-back episodes -- takes a look at real people as they prepare for one of life's milestones -- cart-wheeling into this exciting new life-stage. From a former NFL player's desire to prove he can still compete with the best to a successful woman who seems to have it all but journeys to Italy to trace her roots to a wheelchair-bound man who aspires to parachute out of an airplane, viewers go behind-the-scenes as some of the most unexpected 40th birthday festivities are being planned, plotted ... and celebrated!
Produced for TV Land by J.D. Roth and Todd A. Nelson at 3 Ball Productions ("Beauty and the Geek" and "The Biggest Loser") and executive produced by Keith Cox (TV Land), "The Big 4-0" is a six-episode reality series that documents one real 39-year old per episode as he/she marks this monumental occasion in surprising ways. Whether it is a fun vacation getaway with friends to start a new chapter in their lives or an extravagant costume party to possibly find love again, they reflect on what they have accomplished thus far and what they aspire to do.
"'The Big 4-0' provides TV Land's audience with positive stories of real people celebrating this milestone and embracing this new stage of life in unexpected and sometimes amazing ways," states Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "The experience of planning this event is something that is not only entertaining but also relatable and truly speaks to an underserved audience of people in their 40s and 50s."
Online, TVLand.com visitors can watch bonus and extended scenes from each episode, full episodes the day after they air and catch sneak peeks of upcoming episodes. Additionally, fans can view a library of photos -- including pictures from each celebrant's personal collection -- as well as photos taken as they prepared and celebrated their 40th birthday. Finally, fans can interact on the site's message boards to discuss their own big plans for milestone birthdays.

These shows all expire some time this year I believe....wonder which will stay, which will be let go...
Cheers (September)
Wings
Highway to Heaven
I Love Lucy (December)
The Munsters (end of May)
The Addams Family (end of May)
Knight Rider/Miami Vice/The A-Team/Simon and Simon [all from Universal]
Honestly, I don't see any of them being renewed since Lucy and Cheers are going to Hallmark, Wings has had an awful run on both N@N and TV Land....The Munsters and Addams Family haven't done that well either. Those four Universal dramas all bombed except maybe the A-Team. The only one I could see being renewed, if possible, is I Love Lucy, since they seem to be using it to attract Baby boomers.

I'm pretty sure The Munsters and Addams Family are going for sure. Highway to Heaven, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, A-Team, and Simon and Simon have about a 0% of getting renewed. Cheers will probably go. I Love Lucy probably has the best chance of staying, if Hallmark and TV Land can work out a shared deal. I Love Lucy brings in a large amount of women viewers, and of course baby-boomers.

The Hallmark deals for Cheers and I Love Lucy are not exclusive...so TV Land can renew or another cable channel has a chance of picking it up also, like how WE picked up The Golden Girls with Hallmark starting in March 2009.
As of now Munsters/Addams Family seem to be leaving as they seem to be leaving at the end of May...but that could change.

let's hope Sanford and Son won't be renewedI agree. Although I love Sanford and Son, it's very much time for it to go. It's been played to death and has had very few breaks until recently. It seems to be slipping, only airing mornings and late nights. TheLink used to say the demographics were too old or something...
The only reason I'd think Lucy will be renewed is because they seem to be using it to attract the boomer women. That seems to be the only thing going for that classic at this point.

TV Land Renews Hit Original Reality Series 'High School Reunion' for a Second Season
Mike Fleiss To Return As Executive Producer
NEW YORK, April 2, 2008 -- Following impressive ratings gains and steady growth of its original reality series "High School Reunion," TV Land announced today that it has renewed the series for a second season, with Mike Fleiss returning as executive producer. Premiering in first quarter 2009, the second season will reunite high school alumni after 20 years as they gather for two weeks in an exotic vacation getaway.
"TV Land viewers can't get enough of 'High School Reunion,'" states Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "The show continues to build a new audience for TV Land and create buzz. We can't wait to introduce our viewers to a new reunited class as they reconnect with old friends and forge new relationships to make great television."
"I'm thrilled that 'High School Reunion' connected with viewers in such a big way," said Mike Fleiss, the show's creator and executive producer. "I'm also very excited to be doing the show again with my friends at TV Land."
Last week's fourth installment of "High School Reunion," which aired on March 27, scored a series high, averaging 797,000 total viewers for the 10 p.m. telecast, making it the most-watched episode of the series to date, according to Nielsen Media Research. The telecast also gave TV Land double-digit gains across the network's target demo, Adults 25-54, and among the network's core audience, Adults 40-54.
Season one of "High School Reunion" has been averaging 767,000 total viewers, an increase of +14% above channel average with a median age of 46. Among Adults 25-54, it has been posting a 0.4/459,000, up +42% in rating and +41% in delivery over channel average. Among Adults 40-54, it is posting a 0.5/290,000, up +20% in rating and delivery.
"High School Reunion" and related content gave TVLand.com its best quarter ever for traffic, besting the previous quarter by +5%. Also, TVLand.com witnessed its best month in March, jumping +48% over the previous month and breaking "50 Greatest TV Icons'" record month by +18%.
"High School Reunion" is executive produced by Mike Fleiss ("The Bachelor"), Andrew Hoegl and Jonathan Singer in association with Warner Horizon Television. The show reunites classmates from all walks and stages of life who have issues to address and resolve since their high school days. The series gives viewers a front-row seat to the emotional and compelling rollercoaster ride.

HSR is very boring. The labels these people had were a trip! I seriously felt like Kat "the lesbian" needed a new label "Confused and Clueless". TV LAND'S "HIGH SCHOOL REUNION" FINALE SCORES MOST-WATCHED EPISODE WITH OVER 1 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS
TV Land's Most-Watched Original Series in Network History Among A25-54
New York, New York - April 10, 2008 -- The finale of TV Land's "High School Reunion" averaged over 1 million total viewers for last night's 10 p.m. telecast, making it the most-watched episode of the season, according to Nielsen Media Research. The episode was also the highest rated of the season, building over last week's episode with double digit increases. "High School Reunion" is TV Land's most watched original series ever among A25-54.
In last night's finale -- entitled "Only the Lonely" -- the classmates celebrated the end of their reunion with a prom which included a special performance by hit 80's band, The Motels. The episode posted a 0.5/560,000 among A25-54, up +42% in rating from last week's episode and +43% in delivery. Among the network's core A40-54 audience, the episode earned a 0.5/266,000, a rise of +32% in rating and +30% in delivery over last week. It also scored double digit gains in total viewers (over 1 million) with a +51% increase over last week.
Throughout the season, "High School Reunion" averaged 821,000 total viewers, up +89% over the same time period last year with a median age of 45. Among A25-54, it posted a 0.5/487,000, up +147% in rating and +152% in delivery versus last year. Among A40-54, the series averaged a 0.5/275,000, an increase of +92% in rating and +96% in delivery over YAGO.
"The steady, record-setting growth of High School Reunion' this season is a testament to the fact that viewers can't get enough of this show," states Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "Our audience of people in their 40s and 50s continue to come to us on-air and online, and we couldn't be more thrilled. The series has become appointment television, and we can't wait to introduce our viewers to a new reunited class next season."
Online, TVLand.com also saw massive gains. The site tied its best day ever and beat the previous Wednesday by +43%. During the hour of the on-air premiere of the finale (10-11pm), TVLand.com's traffic increased +162% over the previous week and the 11p.m. to 12 a.m. hour spiked +188% over last week. The "High School Reunion" Webisodes were the most popular video of the day, eclipsing the next popular clip by +110%. For the week of March 31st, thirteen out of the top twenty pages on the site were "High School Reunion" pages.
Executive produced by Mike Fleiss and Lisa Levenson ("The Bachelor"), "High School Reunion" reunites classmates from all walks and stages of life who have some issues to address and resolve since their high school days. It gives viewers a front row seat to the emotional and compelling rollercoaster ride throughout its run.

I had to come on over and register just so I could post on this topic (but don't worry I'll be posting elsewhere too when I get the chance). While I love TVLAND for all it's great classic sitcoms, I too get annoyed when they started filling their schedules with reality shows, HOWEVER, HSR is an exact match for TVLAND's genre, it's all about nostalgia and reliving the good old days. TVLAND's core audience right now are in fact people who went to high school in the '80s. Shows like Extreme Make Over, definitely don't belong on TVLAND, but HSR is definitely relevant to TVLAND and it became a surprise favorite of mine, I felt so connected and interested in this cast, I felt their joy, I felt their pain, I loved it all, and it left me wanting to know more about these people. I too remember the original WB series, as I wrote a news paper article about it for my college paper, but at that time they were only doing 10 year reunions, and they were a little shady about it, not everyone had graduated from the same year.
I for one am really happy that this show is coming back (in fact 2009 is too long to wait for me!), because TVLAND was able to do it right, just like the same way when VH1 took over Surreal Life (which was also originally a WB series), they were able to make it so much better. HSR didn't work as well on the WB because the WB's target audience were teenagers.
The sad reality is that TVLAND can only turn a profit by showing sitcoms for so long, some viewers are looking for a little change of scenery, like they did when they started showing movies on TVLAND.
