Was this guy ever caught?

There was a story on UM that took place in the early to mid 90's. It was about a motorcyclist who was in a hit and run with a trucker and lost his leg. The trucker just pulled the guy's bike out of the grill of his truck, and looked for the injured biker, but the guy hid in the weeds because he was afraid that the guy would finish him off. The trucker took off, and the injured motorcyclist flagged down someone else for help. Does anyone know, if the hit and run trucker was ever caught?

I think the biker's name was Jay and I don't think anyone has been caught regarding this. :(
