According to Variety The Big Bang Theory will return in mid-March with 8 new episodes.

From Variety :

CBS

Laffers given a greenlight are "Two and a Half Men," "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory."

Net is hoping to crank out eight segs of its comedies and six or seven segs of each of its dramas. Newcomer "Moonlight" will likely produce fewer segs.

Eye insiders are hoping to begin rolling out new episodes of the comedies by mid-March, while the hope is to have dramas begin popping up the first week in April.

I hope that both The Big Bang Theory and Moonlight get the green light for a second season. They're two of my favorite new shows.

What did I tell you? Told you.

You most certainly did, and were correct. I thank you for that very accurate information. :)

Thanks for the good news. I am glad this show will get some more exposure before the summer. However, I'll have to watch a lot online since the show I got into over the strike, The Sarah Conner Chronicles, comes on at 9:00 as well.

What would really be great about this strike would be if more eps are produced here soon and they air into the summer. One of the only bad things about the summer time is that there are harldly any new sitcom eps on. Perhaps this summer we will get some.

Good news for you. The Big Bang Theory is on at 8:30 before the Sarah Conner Chronicles, so you can watch it Mondays at 8:30 on CBS.

Great news! I can't wait to watch them . . . that means we'll have around 20 episodes for the entire season . . . not that bad of damage from the strike after all.

I think we can all assume BBT will be back for a second season. If repeats were getting close to 9 million, imagine what the new episodes will be getting.

Very good article on Chuck Lorre in the LA Times, and he found another episode for us. He says it is 9 new episodes. See here :
