I did, many years ago. The movie was Dune. It's still a running joke in our house. If I'm trying to think of movies to add to my Netflix que, my husband will say, "Let's watch Dune again."...or I'll say, "How about Dune?" If we watch a lousy movie, one of us might say, "That was Dune bad."

That WAS a bad movie, Janice.
I came very close to walking out of Hannibal. Violence in films usually doesn't bother me, but the "dinner" scene in that movie made me feel physically ill.

"Dinner" was pretty much the only memorable scene in that movie
I walked out of Matrix Reloaded about 30 mins into it because I was so bored and hated it and snuck into X2 instead

I only did that once. A friend and I went to see 'Blood Fist'. It was so bad, that we left 30 minutes into it. I think there were like 4 or 5 sequels to it.

I don't think I got that far, lol. I actually don't remember a single scene in that movie, only that it was comically horrible.

Exactly once, over some Australian thing my classmates dragged me to. Strangely enough, it wasn't even the worst film I'd ever had to sit through, but the plot, mixed with the company, mixed with my early-twenties... crushes... made it all a bit too much. And the funny thing is, I can't remember anything at all about the movie today. Nothing!

Does making out throughout a movie count as walking out on it?

I walked out on St. Elmo's Fire in 1985 and that was my last trip to a theater until The Incredibles in Decemeber, 2004 and that was against my will.

I was so ticked off a few months back when I was in bed and couldn't sleep and watching television, and I noticed Hannibal was on TNT and they were towards the end, so I wanted to see that scene again, and TNT edited it so badly it's not even funny. You don't see Ray with his skull cut open, nor do you see the part where Hannibal feeds him his own brain. It was a jip, because that was the money scene as far as I was concerned. The rest of the movie was horrid compared to Silence Of The Lambs.

It wasn't during Schindler's List, was it?
In case you don't get the joke, it's from an episode of Seinfeld.
I remember I did walk out of a movie but I don't think it was because it was bad. I don't even remember what movie it was. It was 1977, Star Wars was huge and I had such a crush on Mark Hamill. I went to see another movie but really wanted to go see Star Wars again. So I think I watched about 20 minutes of the first movie, left and snuck into Star Wars.

I was falling asleep during the first 30 minutes of Matrix Reloaded, but woke up when things started exploding

Me and the whole theater in Seattle walked out halfway through seeing
'Evolution' with David Duchovny and Julianne Moore in 2001.
The fire alarm rang.
After we waited on the street downtown for a while, we were allowed to go in and finish watching the movie. We all gave it a standing ovation!

yes; YEARS ago. I think it was in 1982 or 83; it was some thing called-oh, I forget now-but it was a comedy about pirates that starred Eric Idle and John Cleese. I just went to see it with my friend because another movie we wanted to see was sold out.
It was so bad; right before us, a guy stood up and yelled "THIS MOVIE STINKS!!!!" and walked out.
A movie that I was tempted to walk out on though, was-oh, what the hell was that thing-it was a couple years ago-it starred Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson-"ANGER MANNAGMENT"-that's it!god that thing was HORRIBLE!!!

I know. Like the original version isn't long enough, right? I've heard that the novel Dune is really good though. I've meant to read it for about five years now, but I still haven't.

they did a miniseries a few years back of Dune that was author-approved, because he hated the movie version as well

Yes, Motal Combat back in 1995. I loved the video game and I thought the movie would be great, After about 45 minutes, I got up and left. I couldn't get into it and still hadn't attempt to watch it again.

I wanted to walk out of Ocean's Twelve, but unfortunately, the people I was with wouldn't have.

Yes... it was the movie Dreamcatcher, from four or five year ago. It was supposedly based on a Stephen King novel, but the movie was such crap, I eventually just got up and left (after quite a few other cinema-goers did the same...)

WHAT??
You disappoint me, Janice.:( ;)
Course, I'm a big Sting fan. And apparently a fan of bad sci-fi movies.
Anyway, yeah, there have been movies that I should have walked out on.
One was Evita.
The other was Lawnmower Man II.
I really don't know which one was worse.
...Don't say "Dune", Janice.;)

I walked out of Rob Zombie's Halloween back in September. My best friend and I just hated it since it was so different from the original, so we walked out about 30 minutes into it.

Yeah, that's another boring movie I went to see. My friends treated me to that movie and if they didn't I would have walked out on that crap.

I'm sorry, Sterling. Perhaps if I saw it today, it might have a different effect. :)
