View Full Version : Is anyone else like this with movies?

You start watching a movie, and after about 15 minutes into it, you just know it's awful. Yet you can't stop yourself from watching it--because maybe you could be wrong--and you feel compelled to see it through to the end. I felt this way when I watched "Reality Bites" and the movie version of "Bewitched". And this feeling was particularly unsettling for me with "Bewitched" as I love the series.
Anyone else like this--you feel compelled to see something you dislike through to the very end???
(BTW, when I feel this way abt movies I dislike, they immed. go to Goodwill)

9 times out of 10 when that happens, I just shut it off. Though, sometimes I feel compelled to keep watching. Like a couple months ago for some reason I decided to try Barb Wire. I knew it would be horrid, but I kept watching. It turned out that it's a much better comedy than anything Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller have ever released!

You're smart--wished I could do that. Because I keep watching and watching, hoping it'll get better--yet it never has so far.

I felt like this with the Lost In Space movie remake.
I watch a lot of crappy movies on DVD usually to write something about it, and I am proud to say I have only turned off one movie in the middle.
I forget which one.

Rarely, will I watch a movie that's bad. I give it 30 minutes, the most. My husband, on the other hand, acts like he signed a contract with Netflix to sit through everything they send us. Not only that, but he likes just about anything.

I usual gave it 30 mins or so.
Probably 75 percent of the time I'll keep watching it, hoping it will get better. It has to be really bad for me to turn it off.
