Coast To Coast
Starring Chris Noth and Gail O'Grady as a newly-eloped bicoastal pair of rival public relations managers, Steve and Sharon (Manning) Breslin. Steve originally was born and raised in New York, but went off to pursue a PR career out in California after college, where he married his first wife (now ex-wife), Lydia Breslin (Wendie Malick), who turns out to be the mother of his two now-teenage children: Danica Breslin, 18 (Lyndsy Fonseca), and Logan Breslin, 17 (David Henrie). Steve and Lydia grew apart emotionally and later divorced yet remained civil with each other for the kids' sakes. Then, Steve had received the great opportunity to spend a six-month period working back in New York on a high-profile PR case. While out in working in New York and his kids back in California with his ex-wife, a newly divorced Steve had shared an initially love-hate relationship with a rival PR manager, Sharon Manning (O'Grady)-who was an also newly divorced, now single mom of one teenage daughter, Kellie Manning, 18 (Hayden Panettiere). After Steve's six month working period was shorting to come to an end, Steve and Sharon decided to do the unthinkable---and get married after sharing their newfound feelings for each other, and decide to elope the day before Steve has to go back to California. Now, a few months later, Sharon and Steve has told their children, ex-spouses, family, and friends about their bicoastal (almost secret) marriage, which leads to Steve, along with Danica and Logan, moving permanently to New York to move in with his new wife (their stepmom) and his new stepdaughter (their stepsister), and Sharon accepts a job offer at Debbie's PR firm, which is owned and ran by Sharon (and now Steve)'s man-hungry yet successful boss, Cindy Harris (Sharon Lawrence), who happens to be Sharon's college and adulthood best friend. Cindy is a widowed single mom of a handsome college-aged son, Nate Harris (Jake McDorman), who's dad was a proud NYPD police officer who was trapped and killed in 9/11. In the form of coping with the loss of her beloved husband, she has transformed herself in a cold, ruthless, and man-hungry lush who falls for men half her age. With the Breslins and the Mannings now under one roof and officially a family, everything isn't all peachy and lovey-dovey--well it is between the newlyweds, but not so much with their three kids. Also to make matters worse from time to time, Sharon's unfaithful ex-husband and Kellie's selfish father, Eric Manning (John Stamos) lives and works in New York also, and pops in and out of their lives every once in a while. Eric and Sharon divorced when she learned that Eric had been cheating on her with the married mother of Kellie's best friend-who now disowned Kellie as her friend, due to Kellie's dad breaking up the marriage of her parents--which caused Kellie to be resentful of her dad and his selfish ways. Watch how the Manning-Breslin family manages with moving in together and now having to act like a real family and still handle the trials and tribulations of everyday life.
