RIP Suzanne Pleshette dies at 70 [Archive] - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Best known as Emily Hartley on the Bob Newhart Show - Ms. Pleshette died yesterday of respiratory failure. One of the best endings for a series in TV history was when she appeared in the final episode of Newhart - giving the impression that Newhart was all a dream. Late in life, she married Tom Poston, who died last year. One wonders the toll that his death put on her.

The Bob Newhart show was one of my favorite shows growing up. Ms. Pleshette will be missed. COME ON TV LAND - DO A TRIBUTE TO HER!

RIP!!! I *loved* her in "The Birds" and on "The Bob Newhart Show," and she seemed so healthy and bright for her age, too.

WTF is it with these wall-to-wall celebrity deaths this week? Everytime I get online, there's a new one, and it sucks!

God bless Suzanne Pleshette. She was perfect in the role of Emily Hartley - smart, fiery, brash and loyal. According to the BNS DVD commentaries, she was the "mother hen" of the set. She will be totally missed! :rip:

Yes, I heard about this at work this afternoon. :( I was shocked (in a sense).

May God be with her family and friends.

I heard she had lung cancer or something with her lung(s).

She will deeply be missed. She was great on The Bob Newhart Show and her guest shots such as Dr. Kildare and 8 Simple Rules.
