Chris was alright. his audition was nothing that special, but he has potential.

the Princess Leah girl was annoying. she was obviously just trying to be a funny/weird auditioner.

overall it was a decent premiere. the first hour was meh, but it improved in the second hour. not as good as the AI4/AI5 premiere audition shows (those were REALLY entertaining) but much better then last year's.

none of the people who made it through really wowed me, but i see potential in almost all of them.

My favorite one that made it through was Angela. Of the ones that didn't make it, jeez, could Alexis possibly have been anymore pissed off than she was? And that guy that dressed up as Cleopatra with all that chest hair was freaky.

The funniest part was Simon teasing the girl who doesn't watch R-rated movies and Paula's "Stalker". :lol:

The two audition episodes we've seen so far have been more entertaining than I've expected. :p And I do like a lot of the people that have made it to Hollywood. Hope the later episodes have better people though.

Well I have to admit I was pretty bored for all 4 hours this week. The only person I thought was even remotely worthy to go on to Hollywood (and to be in the season 7 top 24) was that blonde who sang "Unchained Melody." And I agree with Simon that it seemed like she thinks she's better than she actually is. We'll see though...She was the best so far, IMO.

That last guy was freakin hilarious. I don't remember laughing so hard at an AI auditon. It was the best when Randy and Paula got up and started dancing with him . . .and the guy jus tkept on singing and singing those same lyrics-LOL.

And then of course the crazy-ass lady from the first episode . . . what was her name? That had me laughing pretty hard too.

Besides that, not the greatest auditions. I don't think there was ony person that I said "wow, they're gonna make it real far." I hope it gets better singing-wise in the upcoming audtions.

last night (San Diego) was an awesome episode, i liked almost everyone who got through. i didnt see it cause i was busy but luckily i was able to catch it online. i really did like everyone who got through, except maybe the dreadlocks guy (dont remember his name). Samantha was probably my favorite though.

tonight's episode (Charleston) on the other hand, was a total trainwreck. they showed like 3 people who got through, all of which kind of sucked, and the bad people were just not entertaining at all. boo.

I love the auditions. They're so hilarious. I laughed so hard when they showed "Red" from last season on the San Diego episode. I wonder if he auditioned again? If he did, I would have loved to have seen that. His audition last year literally had me laughing for weeks.

None of the people that have made it through to Hollywood have really stood out to me.

Yeah, the SC auditions were terrible. Not one person was excellent . . . they were all just okay.

well i thought the episode before SC (San Diego) was pretty strong, and overall i'd say things are going better then last season up to this point. i actually have high hopes for this season after the disaster that was Season 6, so hopefully it winds up being good.

well since there doesn't seem to be much buzz about the show this season, there's not really a need to do our weekly threads like we did in past seasons...so i guess ill just change the title of this thread to The AI7 Discussion Thread and anyone who wants to talk about the show can do so here :)

anyway, what does everyone think of the top 24? i think it's a really strong group of contestants, MUCH better then last year's. my favorites so far are David A, Kady, Ramielle, JoAnne, and Michael.

i agree, he was better then Colton...but i think the producers thought he would kind of turn into a joke ala Sanjaya (because of his image...Vote for the Worst was already planning on voting for him), so that's why they cut him.

I really like David and Michael. CAN'T STAND Jacuzzi (but I love that Simon called him that haha). Loved the guy who sang "So Happy Together" and the guy with the dreads who played guitar. I thought Danny was okay too, definitely not as bad as Simon said.

And everyone else, I can't remember, so they must not have been anything special to me.

David Arch is definitely my favorite dude this year, and if none of the girls impress (but i think a LOT of them will), possibly my favorite overall contestant. Michael's awesome, too.

aside from the "fodder" contestants (Jason Y, Garrett, Colton, Luke), i thought everyone did pretty decent. Danny's performance was bad vocally but it was extremely entertaining, though i don't really care for him that much.

I wasn't too impressed with a lot of the girls last night. The only performances that I thought were really good were Ramiele, Asia"H, and Syeshia. I think this will be the season for the guys.

Alaina and Ramielle were AWESOME last night, and Syesha was really good. Brooke was good, too. everyone else was average to mediocre, and then Amy was just awful.

the girls and guys are about even in my books right now. there are 3 stand-out guys (David Arch, Jason C, Michael) and 3 stand-out girls (Alaina, Syesha, Ramielle) for me. Carly is a stand-out too overall, but she was pretty bad this week.

i voted once for Alaina and Ramielle last night - i hate voting and this is the first time ive done it since AI5, but i really liked Alaina and im kinda worried people forgot her since she went so early, and Ramielle is just awesome.

Well, after the results last night, I have to say the only one that I thought would make the Top 12 is Colton. He was the only surprise to me. I didn't see the other 3 (Garrett, Joanne, & Amy) making the Top 12 at all.

Colton wasn't making the top 12. he wasnt that bad this week and i think Jason Y and Luke were probably worse then him, but eh, he would've gone either next week or the week after anyway.

i kinda of liked Joanne, but she was one of the weakest ones this week. Amy and Garrett just sucked.

Michael's performance last night was a little disappointing. He's shown us he is capable of so much better. He's still my favorite out of the guys.

I really like Luke and Jason Y. They're cute and have great voices. I hope they get a chance to pick some better songs.

Jason C. doesn't do much for me. If he's around next week, he should definitely take the judges' advice and ditch the guitar. I couldn't even hear half the words he was singing.

David H., David C., and Robbie all gave solid performances. I also think Chickeze did better this week.

Danny does absolutely nothing for me.

I hope the judges aren't doing to David A. what they did to Jordin last year. Don't get me wrong, I like him. He just doesn't impress me like a couple of the other guys do.

I agree with all of that!!! I was so disappointed in Michael this week, but I still love him. I'm pretty sure he will be safe this week, though. At least I hope so.

Carly, Ramiele, and Brooke were impressive last night. I think they'll definitely be in the final 12.

I didn't care for Syesha's choice of song. I think she's still one of the best girls though.

I love Amanda's personality; however, I don't care for her singing. Plus, she looked absolutely frightening last night.

I thought Alaina and Kady did better this week, although neither one really wows me yet.

Alexandrea and Kristy are just dull, IMHO.

I'm still undecided on Asia'H. Part of me wants to like her, but part of me finds her a little irritating.

thoughts on last night:

-i thought it was pretty terrible for the most part. Brooke was great and Carly was good, but everyone else was disappointing.
-"All By Myself" was way too big for As'iah. she just doesn't have a powerhouse voice, which is what's needed for the song.
-Brooke was by far the best of the night, and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
-i love Ramiele and Alaina, but neither of them did well this week. Ramiele chose the wrong song and didn't really do anything with it.
-Amanda and Kady were AWFUL.
-Kristy and Alex were both okay, but nothing special.
-Syesha was one of the best of the night but still wasn't that good.

all in all it was pretty bad. i choose Kady and Alex as my picks to go home. Kady failed to prove herself 2 weeks in a row, Alex...i dunno, just a feeling.

i voted for Brooke, Alaina and Ramiele last night (once) and didn't get ANY busy signals. when i used to vote obsessively back in AI4 and AI5, it used to be IMPOSSIBLE to get through for the first hour, and didn't completely clear up until about 15-20 minutes before voting ending. did they get better software or something?!

Really? I didn't have her in my rankings of who would be in the Top 12. Here's how I seeded them based on their auditions and Hollywood Week.
