Standing up for the idea of a strike but not necessarily the team the WGA thus far has sent to hammer out a new deal, Alec Baldwin is summoning fresh blood to the bargaining table. "Calling a strike is sometimes a necessary thing. Having the wisdom and guts and taken to get it over with expeditiously, even more so," the outspoken actor says in his latest blog on TheHuffingtonPost.com. "The current WGA negotiators do not represent the best hope the WGA has right now and should be replaced... with [people who are] more skillful."

Baldwin posits that if the WGA doesn't seek out and strike a deal in short measure, the DGA's own contract renegotiations will take center stage and, with far-craftier dealmakers at their disposal, put the WGA's bargaining to shame. "In our business," he writes, "you start a strike knowing how to end it. Not when, but at least how. Otherwise, don't strike."
