Pop singer Fergie has likened herself to Diana, Princess Of Wales - believing she appeals to the public in exactly the same way. The Fergalicious hitmaker, 32, draws the bizarre comparison during an interview with U.S. music magazine Blender - which has just crowned her Woman Of The Year.

She maintains her innate capacity to relate to people across the world echoes that of the late British royal's, whose sensitivity and charm won the hearts of millions worldwide.

She says, "People put celebrities on a pedestal and act like they're perfect. But I'm more like the people's artist - the same way Diana was 'the people's princess.' I'm a little more human than other artists. I'm not afraid to show my flaws."

Reminds me of a special I watched the other day on Heavy Metal bands. LOS ANGELES - Just call him The Duke. Josh Duhamel and his girlfriend, Fergie, are engaged, his publicist said Wednesday.

Duhamel's publicist, Ruth Bernstein, said the actor recently popped the question to the pop star, whose debut solo album is titled, "The Dutchess." She didn't release any other details.

A message left late Wednesday with Fergie's agent, Jonathan Levine, wasn't immediately returned.

Duhamel, 35, told Best Life magazine in a recent interview that he's been dating 32-year-old Fergie for about three years and that they have bought a house together.

He is the star of NBC's "Las Vegas," and appeared in the action movie "Transformers."

Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, is a member of the Black Eyed Peas. Her hit song "Big Girls Don't Cry" from "The Dutchess" has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the best female pop vocal category.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has compared herself to Princess Diana.

Fergie, real name Stacey Ferguson, has claimed that the fact she isn't afraid to publicly display her flaws has made her the "people's artist".

She told Blender magazine: "People put celebrities on a pedestal and act like they’re perfect. But I’m more like the people's artist - the same way Diana was 'the people’s princess'.

"I'm a little more human than other artists. I’m not afraid to show my flaws and have a laugh about it."
