R&B queen Mary J. Blige wishes she had adopted a more professional attitude towards her work when she was younger, because her immature antics were "stupid".
The Family Affair hit maker, 36, battled an addition to drugs and alcohol as a young artist, and admits she would often snub meetings and photo shoots because she was so intoxicated - a decision she deeply regrets.
She says, "Showing up 10 hours late for an interview or not showing up at all? That's just stupidity. I wish I'd done that differently instead of, 'I'm not going. I'm hung over. I'm staying home.'
"Meanwhile, you've got interviewers and all these people at photo shoots waiting for you who don't care about any of that. They are just their to do their jobs and you don't show up. And now you're difficult."
