Hilary Duff Not Ready For Marriage

Singer Hilary Duff has ruled out marriage in the near future, insisting she's far too young to exchange vows. The 20-year-old is currently serious about ice-hockey star Mike Comrie, but isn't prepared to settle down.

She says, "I'm definitely not ready to get married. I think a reason that people in this business get married young is that they feel like everything comes to them sooner in life. It's normal to be like, 'OK, what's next?'"

I like Hilary. It's nice to see a young star not think marriage is just a game. My God, at age 20 there's no way you're ready for marriage no matter how much you think you are. Heck, even at 40 you might not be "ready".

There's plenty of time for marriage now that women can have children a little later in life. Best to get to know and love yourself first before jumping into what should be a lifelong commitment.

This is why I like Hilary (even though she's young enough to be my daughter!). She seems very level-headed, although I do think that at times she tries to be older than she really is. If these kids only knew what they would be missing by trying to grow up too fast.
