for the older posters, was he "controversial" in the late 70's? I'm just curious because I know there was this huge divide between rock and disco in the late 70's, and while people like the Stones, Kiss and Rod flirted with disco in the day, there were still rock elements to their songs. Yet "Instant Replay" and "Vertigo/Relight My Fire" were as disco as anything Giorgio Moroder produced in the late 70's with no traces of rock or anything, and considering he rose to fame singing "Free Ride" with Edgar Winter Band, I could definately see him being blacklisted and outcast by the rock world that hated disco

I honestly don't recall anything or any backlash towards Dan Hartman regarding going from rock to disco. Thinking abt it, I am really surprised there wasn't a big thing made abt that. Of course, that was the 70's and we didn't have the internet or the entertainment shows that we have now. But honestly there was no hoopla made abt it. If there was, it was behind the scenes. I wish I could give you more information than that John.

I love "I Can Dream About You". I think the lyrics apply to quite a few girls that I've liked in my day. I've been ''spellbound" over quite a few ladies through the years. And even though they may not have liked me back, I could still dream that they did.

Yeah, that was kind of a rock song, wasn't it?
