I'm compiling a list of all the sitcoms (in season sets) on DVD and their release dates. I'll post it soon. Right now, I'm up to December 2004. But it got me thinking about TV Shows on DVD. And what a ride it's been.
The very first season set of a sitcom was "Sex and the City" and it's first season. That was back in May 23rd, 2000. Since then we've come a long way.
The very first sitcom on DVD I bought was "The Simpsons: The Complete First Season" back in September 25th, 2001. That opened a door for me, that I still haven't, nor will I, close.
It's funny, but as I'm going week to week, picking out the sitcoms for my list, I remember going to Suncoast and picking up each of those DVDs. And coming here and talking about it. And going to tvshowsondvd.com to find out what's coming up next.
Remember when "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was stalled at season 1? (Now we're waiting for season 5, lol)
Remember when A&E announced they had abandoned "Ellen" after season 2? Fortunately the next day or so, they turned it around and said season three would be coming out?
2004 was a great year for sitcoms on DVD. Too bad, some of those were left there, too.
