the first case I saw, and one of my favorites.

I got to thinking about this case, and something just registered in my mind that hadn't clicked before.

While I'm still undecided on this case, it should be noted that she disappeared from her aunt and uncle's house, which, to my knowledge, isn't somewhere she stayed the night often. If she was adbucted, how would the abductors know to go to this house and not her parents house?

Wiseguy, is this one that was on one of the first episodes? The pretty blond, and her window was broken and I believe clothes/blood were found on the adjoining dock?
I found this one very odd too, like perhaps it was a randon hit, maybe someone happened upon her that day and just followed her home or something. It's weird nothing was heard by her aunt/uncle, and that nothing has been found to date, I'm assuming.

I've never thought that Wanda Jean was abducted at the house where she was staying. The fact that the glass was broken from the inside makes me think that for whatever reason Wanda did that as she wanted to get out. Maybe she thought her aunt and uncle would hear her leave through the front door but its still suprising they didn't hear glass breaking. What is the mystery is did she end up falling in the water and possibly drowning. I found it intriguing that someone saw a woman matching her description with wet hair and baggy clothes walking down the road (her nightgown was found on the pier I believe and they speculate that maybe she took some clothes off a clothesline). Then someone claims they saw Wanda Jean with two men and she didn't look happy. That makes me wonder if she didn't end up falling in the water that possibly she was picked up as she was walking and possibly met with foul play. I think there is a slim possibly that maybe she has some sort of amnesia as well (like Patricia Meehan) and may be a slight chance she is still alive.

yes that's the case. If it was an abduction/foul play, I'm not entirely certain it was random - she mentioned to her dad the day before she disappeared that she wanted to tell him something important, but just couldn't. Sort of like Rhonda Hinson in that regards.

This is very exciting news. I wish I could watch this press conference but I doubt we get it here in Raleigh. I guess this just goes to show that it is never too late.

I'm curious why it takes 14 years to confirm the DNA.

I hope there is more than just identifying the remains. Don't get me wrong, that is great for the family to have them, but I hope they also know what happened for the family's sake. Accident, caught the suspect, etc.

That was/is one odd case.
