View Full Version : Sean Connery Will Never Make Another Movie

Scottish actor Sean Connery has vowed his retirement from the movie industry is for good this time - but his wife's not convinced. The James Bond legend, 77, has snubbed the previous five $40 million projects offered to him, including the latest Indiana Jones film directed by Steven Spielberg - and he's adamant his door will remain closed to all future propositions.

He vehemently says, "It's over. I will never do another film."

However, Connery's wife of 30 years, Micheline Roquebrune, has little faith in her husband: "He's said that twice before!"

he's just holding out for a big comeback movie when he's 80 I bet. Didn't Marlon Brando and Jane Fonda both do the "I'm never doing a movie again" thing and held their word for a number of years, but then eventually snapped out of it

No offense to Connery, but does he still have big box office appeal? Let's face it, the man is elderly now. I know he was a hunk way back when, but today he's an old man. He's aged well, but frankly, I always laugh when people go on an on about what a hunk he still is. Not to me. I like him, but sex appeal? Not in my opinion. I'm thinking most of the young crowd feels the same way. My 24-year old niece thinks Brad Pitt and George Clooney are old farts, lol.

That's true. I watched Kalifornia last week. It's from 1993, and he's barely aged. He's a fantastic actor, and can ever play a psycho. I think he's gorgeous.

What ruined him for me is the fact he did what he did to his wife Jennifer. Having your marriage shattered by an affair is one thing, having it splattered all over for the world to see is another. Sorry.

good to see someone took Aniston's side. I know so many people who sided with Angelina because she's considered the sexiest woman in the world. Even if she is, that still didn't make what happened right. People always seem to forgive cheating celebrities if they "trade up". I remember when Jennifer Lopez left her husband for Ben Affleck, everyone was for it and on their side, and the same thing with Brad leaving Aniston for Jolie. I personally like Aniston more than Jolie anyways. People think of Angelina as such a glamorous actress who does tons of charity work and all that, how quickly people forget it wasn't that long ago when she was that "freaky goth chick" who always made out with her brother on award shows.

Okay, back to Sean Connery. I think people will still see a movie he's in if it's well-written and looks interesting. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen flopped because it was a piece of junk and the trailers couldn't even make it look worth watching. I think turning the Indiana Jones movie down was probably a mistake because people have been anticipating the fourth installment for nearly twenty years and I think the film will be very successful, but I guess Connery just doesn't wanna do it anymore.

Yeah, that was awful for Jennifer. Can you imagine, being married to one of the world's most famous hunks, and being dumped by Angelina, of all women. Like you stated, on the world's stage, to boot. I do my best to separate an actor's personal affairs, unless they kill someone or root for the enemy, lol. Infidelity is rampant in that industry, and if I let that turn me away, I'd have to shun half of Hollywood.

I have always sided with Jennifer because as a human being, I can't even fathom having your spouse do that to you. I felt bad for her and having to deal with the public knowing your personal issues. Someone like Princess Diana, I never chided her for her affair(s) simply because she married a cad who never loved her and never treated her well, publicly and privately. I felt like he used Diana for his own gain and his family's approval. Diana seeked loved and solace. As for Pitt, I don't get that feeling. He is a handsome man who had an opportunity to cheat and he took it. It reminds me of what comedian Chris Rock said, "You are as faithful as your options." Brad being a good-looking man certainly has many many options and he decided to take them. I prefer a man who knows what he has at home and remains faithful.

Anyways, we shall see abt Sean Connery and see if he sticks to his "never" clause.

I never understood what was so great about Brad Pitt. In the early 1990s, one of my best friends in high school had the biggest crush on him, too. I too feel bad about what happened to Jennifer. No one deserves that, especially when your life is under the public microscope.
