I am going to say Ward and June Cleaver. Even in scenes that just had them in it, all they did was talk about Wally and Beaver. It's like they had no lives of their own.

Paul Hennessy on 8 Simple Rules was overprotective, but that was the premise of the show.

Hayden Fox of Coach, had a lot to say in his adult daughter's life and decisions.

Carol Brady could be a worrywart on The Brady Bunch. Her husband talked her down from it a lot. It seems that most of their discussions were about the kids too.

James Evans on Good Times was always ready to rip someone's head off if they upset one of his kids.

I agree with all those choices. Samantha Stephens (Bewitched) was a very overprotective mother, and her own parents, Endora and Maurice, were no slouches either.

I'd have to agree with the Cleavers; I'd also add Tony Micelli...man, he was Samantha's shadow most of the time.
