Well, folks, I don't know how much longer I can afford to be online here.
I have been having some health problems (caused by anxiety and stress)
and, due to the number of absences, my primary part-time job was terminated
yesterday. Thankfully, I still have my secondary job but it only pays minimum
wage (which is $1.35 less than I was making on my other job). So, until I can
find either another parttime job or a fulltime postion, I'm hoping that they can
increase my hours there. They have already made a last-minute schedule
change to fit me in this coming Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). Things
could be better, but they could be worse. I just need your prayers and
support. :(

Awww, gee. :( I hope things work out with your job but more than that I hope your health improves. And of course I hope you can find your way back here at some point. Don't be discouraged, just keep hanging on and you have my prayers.

I know how anxiety feels; it's scary. Hopefully you can get some help so you can go back to happy. :)

Thank you, friends. Your words of encouragement really mean a lot. I will
remain here for as long as I can (and as long as you can put up with me!).

You don't know the half of it, man. I had just gotten a raise earlier this month
and, after a year of waiting, my insurance benefits had finally kicked in .
Now (at age 60) I have to start over again.

Well, today I resubmitted my application at Wal-Mart and passed the assessment. Hopefully, a position in a less stressful area (I had to learn the
hard way that front-end cashier is not for me) will open up. I am trying to keep a brave face. None of us is promised an easy life and, as someone said, whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

One of my co-workers' husband recently went thru looking for a job at 58. He got canned after 30+ years and they are refusing to give him a severence package. And he went thru sooo many rejections. But he found something! So can you. :)

I think it's terrible that people won't hire people in their 50s and 60s for good jobs. I'd rather have experience over some snot-nosed kid who will work for less.
