I recently got the movie "The Evening Star" which is a sequel to "Terms of Endearment". Although I LOVE the original, The Evening star is my favorite of both. Just something about it.

I'm the opposite...I love Terms, I abhor Evening Star.

I missed Jack Nicholson and that relationship. I also don't like Juliette Lewis as an actress, so to see her play Melanie as an adult just ruined it for me.

Oooh I see lol. I haven't seen her in that much, only two movies including this one. I do love the chemistry between Shirley MaClaine and Jack Nicholson in Terms of Endearment. They could've showed it more in this one.

All the rocky films were pretty good but I like Rocky IV the best.

STAR TREK 3

Staying Alive

:::::runs and hides::::: I love the music from SNF much more (the Frank Stallone songs are all laughably bad in Staying Alive), but I guess there's just too much polyester for my liking in the movie that I never really cared for it. Staying Alive is entertaining to me because it sucks so bad. So technically, I admit SNF is a better movie, but I'd rather watch 80's trash than disco gold I suppose.

Speaking of Frank Stallone, I hear he has a funny cameo in Fred Claus. Has anyone here seen that movie yet?

Actually, the Bee Gees had some cool songs in the Staying Alive movie, like "The Woman In You" and "Someone Belonging To Someone". I think that after SA, the brothers took a break from the group and focused more on writing/producing for other artists.

disco is an era I prefer the audio to the visual. I admit Saturday Night Fever is a much better movie, but Staying Alive does the trick (Travolta has a niche in the "bad movie Hall of Fame") when I wanna watch a movie that's so unintentionally funny and bad. So I suppose this isn't the "better" than Travolta and Stallone were aiming for when they were making that movie.

I actually don't like "The Woman In You" too much, but I do really like "Someone Belonging To Someone". I also really like "I Love You Too Much". I do own the Staying Alive soundtrack because of those two songs.

I will say that SA is a MUCH better movie than Moment by Moment, Battlefield Earth and the Look Who's Talking sequels. I know that's not saying much, but hey...

Battlefield Earth also rocked!!!!..... for all the wrong reasons.

I still believe that movie would've been a success had it been marketed as a comedy instead of as a serious sci-fi picture

No, I don't listen to the Frank Stallone songs. "Far From Over" is especially terrible.

I always thought "Far From Over" musically was an inferior ripoff of "Maniac", I have no doubt that's what Frank intended though since they both were out in 1983 and Maniac was a #1 hit

I actually never thought of it that way. "Maniac" is a far, far better song for sure.

Far From Over - does that describe the feeling you get listening to the song?? Maniac is an awesome song!
