It will be called "Classroom Survival". 24 individuals will each be put in charge of a classroom of students for one whole school year. During this time, they must plan lessons that are tailored to each individual child's needs and learing style. They will be forced to deal with obnoxious parents and oblivious parents. They will assign homework and grade tests. They will chaperone recess, field trips, and other school activities. They will deal with gifted and talented children and children with learning problems at the same time. They will deal with classroom bullies and children who cry over everything. They will deal with children who come to school hungry for attention, hungry for food, or both. They will deal with each child's triumphs and heartaches.
Those who survive the year will win $30,000 and the opportunity to do it all again next year.
