Bit of a boring thread but i would like your opinions!
Do you think that they will release a complete boxset of Roseanne, if so dont you just hate it when they do that because i bet it has extra stuff on etc...and why would you buy it if you have all the rest on dvd. Unless you have more money than sense. lol.

I emailed Starz/AB about this around a month a ago. They said they had no plans to release a series set. If one is released in the future though hopefully it will not contain the edits on seasons 1,8,& 9. Also I would love to see bloopers from seasons 2-9 and a Sara Gilbert interview.

I asked Carsey Werner and they said yes a month or two ago.

If there is a Complete Series DVD Set coming, all the missing stuff will not be included in it. The music edits on the 8th and 9th season sets are final. If they do decide to change any of the discs, it will be an unedited 1st season set. They'll also probably throw in a bonus disc with hours of extras, and maybe some kind of episode guide or scrapbook.
I hope there is a Complete Series Set for Roseanne. I LOVE when every single episode is together in 1 packaging.
If you were buying the individual sets all this time (I own most of them myself), you can just sell them, and pick up the big set. That's what I've done with my other shows.

Well they did say that they are planning it as a speical purchase and tat there is no time frame for it yet and that the music will be wued music ot the origianl because of the prices for the songs. Thats what CW says Anchor Bay didn't say that they said there isn't one planned at this time.

I hate that after all the money tey made on the dvd releases that they couldn't give us what they showed on ABC in 1988-1997 I think that although the edits are minor theres no reason why the companies should restrict themselves from giving us the episodes, the bloopers, the original photos, the right episode titles and trivia, A trivia game, commentaries, interviews tere were only a few of those on there

I'm sorry, but I'm getting a different message from AB. I just emailed them last night, and here's the message they sent me:
"I'm sorry, but we have no plans at this time to release a complete series set of Roseanne. If one is every under consideration, it will contain the same material released in seasons 1-9. Thanks for the suggestion, though!"

Oh thats awful...so if they do decide to get one then it wont include the bloopers or behind the scenes footage. Then wat would reel us to buy it. It must be for people who don't have the dvds if thats the case so its edited, no special thing just all the seasons on one dvd 200 dollar set.

I am surprised that Carsey Werner just gave the company releasing "Roseanne" in Germany(Universum) the 'unedited' first season but didn't for the USA!?!?! Don't really think it's quite as popular here!? Hmmm... Wonder about the 8th & 9th seasons here? Ps...Carsey Werner also gave the company that released "3rd Rock from the Sun" in the UK, the 'uncut' first 2 seasons with James Earl Jones' intro!! Y not 4 the USA??

yeah, it'll probably just be in special packaging, basically for the people who don't own any seasons but would like the whole show on DVD, or for the complete series collectors (like myself).
Most companies aren't releasing new material on their complete series sets anymore. For example, WB is releasing a CS set for Full House, and it will be the same material given on the season releases, just in special packaging. Same goes for Sony and King of Queens.

Actually King of Queens will be getting a bonus disc.
I'm not too sure if/when we'll see a complete boxset for Roseanne. AB didn't do anything for Three's Company and that was finished about a year ago. If we do see something it probably won't be until much later (fall '08?). I hope that they are able to fix season 1 for a complete set. If they do I will definitly pick it up.

I think that CW was jus talking tupid. I don't think Anchor Bay has the funds to do that if if they do i think they'd just make it because they said season 1 will never be uncut. Or that tey wont ave it unedited
