BOSS IS BOSS IN CHART RACE:
Bruce Springsteen’s Magic will reign atop Tuesday’s HITS Top 50 Albums chart, one of what could be up to seven newcomers in the Top 10. The Boss’ ballyhooed latest, sporting a five-star Rolling Stone review and pre-Grammy buzz, will sell between 345-355k, with an outside shot at 360k depending on weekend traffic.
Lyric Street’s Rascal Flatts, last week’s #1, fall to #2 with close to 200k, followed by yet another debut in Atlantic’s Matchbox Twenty greatest hits plus six new songs set at #3 set to score between 125-130k.
Interscope Dirty South rapper Soulja Boy will crack the six-figure mark with between 115-120k for his first week, good for #4, followed very closely by Capitol’s R&B “Bed” man J. Holiday at #5 with 105-110k.
Geffen diva Keyshia Cole follows up last week’s #2 bow with 105-110k at #6, while Roc-A-Fella/IDJ’s Kanye West continues strong for a possible 100k week, placing him #7.
Atlantic’s Virginia soul crooner Trey Songz is up next, bowing at #8, selling from 90-95k, while Arista’s Annie Lennox debuts Top 10 with 75-80k. Hidden Beach’s Jill Scott, WB’s Faith Hill in her first week and Disney’s perennial High School Musical 2 battle it out for #10, all between 70-75k. (10/5p)
