First indications are that the ratings for Week Two of The Big Bang Theory were pretty good, but not great.
From Medialife Magazine :
At 8 p.m. ABC led with a 4.9 for the first half of its two-hour “Stars,” followed by CBS with a 3.2 average for “How I Met Your Mother” (3.0) and “Theory” (3.4).
The ratings in the all important 18-49 year olds fell by about 9% that is not bad after last weeks sampling, and it managed to stay ahead of How I Met Your Mother, and improving on HIMYM by 13%. It also beat NBC's critically acclaimed show Chuck that finished at a 3.1 rating. Not great, but not bad at all.

From Marc Berman of Mediaweek :
CBS was close to opening week levels from one week earlier with its combination of How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #2, 7.88 million; A18-49: #2t, 3.0/ 8), The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #2, 8.58 million; A18-49: #2, 3.4/ 8), Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #2, 13.38 million; A18-49: #3, 4.6/11), Rules of Engagement (Viewers: #3, 10.54 million; A18-49: #3, 3.9/ 9), and CSI: Miami (Viewers: #1, 14.88 million; A18-49: #1, 4.6/11). The positive news for The Big Bang Theory was growth out of lead-in How I Met Your Mother of 700,000 viewers and 13 percent among adults 18-49, and a performance close to its week-ago debut.

All it needs to do is build on HIMYM and it will be safe. Rules was killed by Dancing this week, it was down like 3 million, while Men held steady almost from last week.

I agree. This is another good week for this show. It built on HIMYM by double digits again, and it only lost 9 % of its sampling from the week before. It is also # 2 in its time slot behind DWTS. That is really pretty good. :D

as long as the story lines stay good every week it should be able to succeed

This show is still doing better than back to You, which was much more critically acclaimed than BBT. While both shows are good, BTY is much funnier and smarter, yet BBT wins in viewers.
Good thing was, the dropoff this week was not that bad. Looks like this show will be sticking around for awhile, as long as HIMYM stays around.
