Unbelievable

Starring Charles Shaughnessy as Michael Walsh, an assistant district attorney living in his San Diego hometown along with his loving wife, Sheryl Walsh (Jane Seymour). Michael and Sheryl have been happily married for 25 years now, and have two grown children- the 24-year-old Alecia Walsh (Ashley Johnson) and the 22-year-old Travis Walsh (Jake McDorman). Michael finds his once-secured job being intimidated by the new feisty, egotistical, and determined attorney at the office, Beth Roberts (Beverly D'Angelo). Sheryl is also facing a mixed blessing of her own: she's pregnant at 47! Sheryl is afraid of how Michael will react at the news when she tells him. Alecia is experiencing a similar situation as her mom, she is pregnant and doesn't know who's the father. Alecia then decides to commit insurance fraud as she decides to marry her gay best friend, Ross Marsden (Freddy Rodriquez) for insurance purposes due to her pregnancy. Also, Travis is living every man's dream: conducting a relationship openly with two women: the eternally bubbly and ditzy, Beckie Daniels (Amanda Seyfried) and the sweet yet sassy, Nicole Dennison (Sophia Bush). Things seem to get a bit complicated for Travis, or so it seems, when Nicole and Beckie become best friends and end up getting an apartment together across the hall from Alecia and Ross.

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Michael gets the opportunity of meeting his new associate attorney, Beth. Michael begins to find her eagerness to become intimidating as he feels she is only after his job-especially when she outshines Michael in court. Also, Sheryl learns from her doctor that she is pregnant, and worries how she will tell Michael and the kids. Meanwhile, Nicole and Beckie get an apartment together after forming a friendship, which makes things difficult yet easier for Travis in the longrun. Elsewhere, Alecia asks Ross to marry her temporarily for insurance purposes for her unborn baby. Lastly, Alecia and Ross do the courthouse thing, but Alecia later fears how she will tell her parents about her pregnancy and her sudden marriage.

Ep2: Twice Over:
As Sheryl is about to tell Michael that she is pregnant, she and Michael are interrupted by Alecia and Ross, who inform them of her pregnancy and their marriage. Michael flips out when he hears the news which causes Sheryl to rethink her decision about the baby. Elsewhere, Travis tries to convince Beckie and Nicole to have a threesome, but after many many times of declining his proposal, they finally give in and decide to "try it out". Travis becomes thrilled beyond words--especially when the two girls decide on making their relationships with Travis into a three-way relationship after experiencing a lot of fun together.

Ep3: Ross Isn't The Daddy:
Alecia informs her parents that Ross is not the baby's dad or even her boyfriend, but just her gay best friend whom she married for insurance purposes. Michael immediately disapproves of Alecia's unethical and illegal decision, as Sheryl supports Alecia's pregnancy but doesn't feel Alecia did the right by just getting married solely for insurance benefits. Travis feels he's in an awkward position when he finds Nicole to be a better lover than Beckie all of a sudden, but instead of wanting to look bad--he gets Nicole to give her advice and convince her to become a better lover afterall.

Ep4: No Such Thing As Paradise:
Ross and Alecia get a visit from Ross's overbearing mom, Nancee (Alley Mills). Nancee is totally against Ross and Alecia's "marriage" and begins to belittle Alecia for "using Ross" like that. Ross becomes upset and for the first time ever, tells off his mom-which makes things more intense. Elsewhere, Nicole and Beckie begin to worry Travis when they begin to form their own side relationship excluding him in the process.

Ep5: The Return Of Jonathon:
Alecia's ex-boyfriend, Jonathon (Zachary Levi) makes a return after hearing through the grapevine that Alecia's pregnant. Jonathon insists on doing a paternity test to find out if Jonathon is the baby's daddy, but when Alecia refuses--Jonathon becomes persistent, Alecia becomes worried yet headstrong, and Ross becomes suspicious. Meanwhile, Sheryl breaks the news of her pregnancy to Michael, who laughs it off--which hurt Sheryl deeply. Turns out Alecia does know who the father is and just didn't want to end up hurting Jonathon, and didn't want the real father to know. Ross and Jonathon try to get an equally-interested Travis, Beckie, and Nicole involved to help convince Alecia to spill the beans about the father. After feeling ganged up on and pressured to tell, Alecia blurts it out in front of everyone, the father of her unborn baby is: Jonathon's divorced father (shocking everyone, especially Jonathon).

Ep6: Fathers Being Fathers:
Michael insults Sheryl when he accuses her of making it up to get his attention after his working a lot of overtime lately. Sheryl becomes infuriated and proves it to Michael, who is in denial about being a father at 49. Elsewhere, Jonathon drags Alecia over to his dad, Sam (William Russ)'s house and has her confess to him about being the dad of her baby. Sam too becomes in denial and even goes as far as denying that she and him had ever slept together, which Alecia becomes frustrated with when she knows he is lying. Jonathon finds himself in the middle of his father and his ex-girlfriend. Jonathon suggests a paternity test-which results in a confession from Sam. But then Jonathon becomes angry that his dad actually did sleep with his then-girlfriend, and then when alone just two of them - Sam bribes Alecia with money to terminate the pregnancy (as she only has two weeks left until the option unavailable).
