There are a lot of songs that exists and sometimes the original is better or the newer version is better. Mine are as follows:

Fonda Rae- Touch Me (1984) Cathy Dennis-Touch Me (1991) I like Cathy's better although I like both versions.

Knots Landing (1979) Knots Landing (1989) I like the 89' version better.

Killing Me Softly-Roberta Flack Lauryn Hill-Killing Me Softly I like Lauyn Hill's

Those were the Days (1970) (1979) I like the 79' version better

You're all I need Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (1967) Mary J. Blige(1995) Original version is better.

I'll take you there by the Staple Singers(1972) 2nd version by BeBe and CeCe Winans (1991) The second version is better to me.

Talk Talk-Its my life (1984) No Doubt did their version (2003) I like No doubt's better although I am a fan of both.

Redbone-Come and get your love (70's version) then there was "Real McCoy" (1995) I love the 2nd version by "Real McCoy".

What about the rest of you? Do you have any faves?

Diana Ross did a remake of Marvin and Tammi's "You're All I Need To Get By" on her 1970 debut solo album. I think it's better than the original.

I never knew that. It seemed like she did quite a few Marvin and Tammi songs along with songs from other artists.

I think the finest writers/producers that Diana Ross worked with were Ashford/Simpson. Speaking of A&S, I also find their song "Solid" extremely catchy, in an '80s sort of way.

R.E.M.'s "Just a Touch": the second version, which is on In the Attic, is better than the original.

I heard an extended house remix of Madonna's Material Girl that I liked even more than the original.

Faith Hill sang a slightly softer version of Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart".

I liked Janis's much better.
