After one episode of "The Big Bang Theory," I am officially hooked! If "Beauty and the Geek" was a sitcom, this would be it! Plus, it's great to see Kaley Cuoco back in a sitcom since "8 Simple Rules" was cancelled in 2005.

I loved the pilot too. It's my feeling that the sitcom is back!

The pilot was enjoyable. Good to see Johnny Galecki back on TV again.

Kaley wasn't so bad to look at either.

I didn't laugh too much, but it wasn't awful.

I will continue to watch to give it a chance but if I was basing it on tonight, I would give it the axe.

The nerd characters use too many complicated words and I really don't see how anything else can happen in this series.

Kind of predictable and not even entertaining predictable (ex. Full House and Diff'rent Strokes were predictable but fun to watch)

I hope the show gets better because it would be nice if there was a new sitcom that was actually good....

I thought the pilot was pretty good. Hopefully it does well in the ratings. Cuoco didn't really have any funny lines but who cares, she looked great in that towel! I liked the chemistry between Sheldon and Leonard, both of them were pretty funny. The other nerds were pretty funny as well, especially Wolowitz.

I have heard from several people that have seen the 2nd, 3rd and 4th episodes filmed that Kaley's character starts to develop and they give her more funny lines. You have to remember in the pilot they were just introducing the characters. Give it a few more episodes, I think Penny will be funny.

Personally, I love the show. It is hilarious. :)

Johnny Galecki was good, but I think Howard stole the show. He is my favorite character thus far. Very funny and enjoyable character.

I think Jim Parsons has the best lines. He mentioned Battlestar Galactica (season 2 DVD...with commentary! lol), MySpace, etc.

I agree, if this show makes it big Jim Parsons will be the next big star. He is absolutely hilarious. :D

My favorite quote of the pilot:

(as they walk up the stairs after being pantsed)
Leonard: Sheldon, I am so sorry I dragged you through this.
Sheldon: It's okay. It wasn't my first pantsing, and it won't be my last.
Leonard: But you were right about my motives. I was hoping to establish a relationship with Penny that might have someday led to sex.
Sheldon: Well, you got me out of my pants.

I agree 100%.

Sheldon is my favorite character, so far. He was great. I loved when Penny got up, and he jumped over to "his" seat.

Penny was a little vanilla, but I'm sure she'll get better lines as the show goes on (though I'm not holding my breath for the snappy dialogue Bridget Hennessey delivered).

In my opinion, Penny is nothing similar to Bridget. Penny is not a air-headed shallow high-schooler. Penny is like the college girl next door who you don't mind hanging out with every now and then.

I just saw it and it was funny. Maybe not a huge laugh riot, but it had its moments. I may just watch all the episodes in the future online the day after they originally air (as I have DWTS to watch and if I tape, I usually forget) so that is what I am going to do.

Kaley definatly displayed a lot of comic ability on 8SR and i agree that she was wasn't given much to do in the pilot but look cute. But I am sure they will give her character some depth in the future.

LOL...I know, that's why I said I don't expect her to deliver her lines like Bridget. Kaley has great comedic timing, so I hope they take advantage of that.

And I don't remember what she did, but the camera purposely went to Johnny's character, and showed him look up at her in a sad way. I guess he's in love with her, while the other guys just think she's hot?

In my opinion, I think Leonard is secret-crushing on Penny because he may be the only geek out of the "nerd tree of friends" that has some game, if you know what I mean.

Yes, I think you mean Simon Helberg playing Howard Wolowitz.

seems a bit unrealistic for a pretty girl to take a shower in the apt of two nerdy guys and even go inside. I think it would have been a little better if she ran into them in the building laundry room, or neighborhood cafe, and kind of wored up to her eventually being in their apt.

Another thing I noticed, after she came out of the shower she had different clothes on. Where did they come from, lol? Did she go back to her apartment to get them and come back?

To clarify my quote, Except for Wolowitz, Leonard is the only one out of his friends who has ever had an experience going out with a girl.

It seems unrealistic for ANYONE to walk up to someone and ask to take a shower in their home. As for her being "a pretty girl" and asking the guys, that's probably what they're saying with this show. Just because people look a certain way, doesn't make them a certain way (IE: because she's hot, doesn't make her a shallow individual)...That's just my take on it, and we shall see as the show goes on.

I wasn't going to bring this up until next weeks episode (just to see how it goes), but I think Penny needs a female roomate, or at least a recurring female friend. There's way too many dudes on the show.

Sara Gilbert joins the cast in week 3 as Leonard's love interest and Laurie Metcalf plays Sheldon's mother I believe starting in episode 4.

I thought all the characters were pretty funny. Especially loved Sheldon and Howard. I'm looking forward to catching it tonight - Leonard is bound to embarrass himself more in front of Penny and I think it's sweet...

Leonard is bound to embarrass himself more in front of Penny and I think it's sweet...

SPOILER! Don't read below if you haven't seen the next episode!

Sweet? Well, in "The Big Bran Hypothesis", In an attempt to apologize to Penny, Leonard used Oppenheimer's mistake on creating the atom bomb and Curie's finding of radium which led to Curie's slow and painful death. In the end, Penny forgives Leonard, hugs him, and kisses him on the cheek.
