After watching this show tonight, this is not a workplace comedy. I had no idea I was going to see a child toward the end and the scenes at both houses was way too long. So this show is going to be about two people getting back together who actually are mother and father of the 10 year old girl???

I'm not sure if this is the adult comedy I was hoping to see tonight.

I don't think they're getting back together.
It wasn't what you expected, but did you think it was funny?

Oh I forgot about the West Coast people-lol It was funny until they were at the house and that little girl came through the door. She wasn' even in the cast photo in the TV guide

I really enjoyed it, I thought it was a good start to a show that promises a long future. Kelsey and the rest were all great.

I'm not going to give up on it but I really wasn't feeling the seriousness so soon

I was wondering what the critic was talking about when they said they can't mention a TWIST-lol I never saw that coming

I just thought it was way too early to bring in a twist like that. People are going to think that is going to be more like a romantic comedy instead of a newsroom comedy. It is too early to say how much they are going to focus on their personal lives.

Funnily enough it reminded me of Frasier, it had simmilar levels of work and home.

Frasier wasn't a workplace comedy but it wasn't just about the family at home either.

I liked how they worked that in. Just another way to show how Kelly and Chuck are gonna have to work out their differences and geta long with each other.

The show is still a newsroom comedy. Sure, I wasn't expecting the seriousness to happen, but I liked it. I just hope they don't go over board with it.

I loved the daughter deal. I saw it coming a mile away, but still loved it. I honestly loved the show. I laughed out loud a few times. My husband enjoyed it too. Fred Willard is a scream.

Why did you love the daughter deal?

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn't really like the twist with the daughter though, but to me it was the best sitcom in several years and I'll definitely be watching for a few more weeks at least.

I'd have to say the same thing. The last 2 or 3 years, sitcoms have really been dead. The only really popular ones have been CBS sitcoms, but those are just viewerwise. With this show, the chemistry is great, the acting (by most) is good, and the writing is close to perfect.

Except for My Name is Earl, I'd have to agree with that too. I haven't watched sitcoms on a weekly basis since 8 Simple Rules and Grounded For Life left the air.

I agree. I didn't mind the daughter at all. All I care about is if the show was funny and it was. :)
