Unlikely Couple

Starring Bret Harrison and Marin Hinkle as an uniquely paired New Jersey engaged couple. Bret Harrison stars as the 22-year-old Jason Spencer, a recent college student who shocks his family and friends when he announces he is going to marry his much-older girlfriend, Laura Swetlik (Marin Hinkle). Laura Swetlik is a 38-year-old divorced single mother of two kids and works as a radio talk show host with her own morning radio-therapy show. Laura and her ex-husband, Ted (Scott Bakula) have two kids: the 10-year-old rambunctious and video-gamer, Shawn (Shane Baumel), and the 7-year-old cute and inquistive, Allie (Mikaila Baumel). Jason's overbearing yet loving parents, Dan and Janet (Dave Coulier, Patricia Heaton) want the best for their son yet fear that Laura isn't the one for him. Jason's younger teenage sister, Holly (Hayden Panettiere) is (the only family member to be) very approving and accepting of Jason and Laura's relationship and engagement, despite her jealousy of her parents "neglecting" her and more concentrating on her brother. And, Jason's two best friends- Carter (Adam Brody) and Adrienne (Sabrina Bryan) are happy for their friend, yet wonders how marrying a thirtysomething single mom will affect their "naive" friend. Also, Laura's co-worker and best friend, Vicki (Wendy Raquel Robinson) is her "rock" and is always there for Laura, and has her own issues with dating and men as she upsettingly is approaching the big 4-0. Lastly, Laura's ex-husband, Ted isn't overly fond of Laura about to re-marry, let alone to a younger guy, and worries that Jason's inexperience of raising kids will affect the "outcome" of Shawn and Allie. Watch how Jason and Laura are forced to deal and life with their everyday live choices and decisions, as well as cope with approving and disapproving family members and friends in this funny and quirky yet often times dramatic situational comedy.
