Zap2it.com is reporting that Laurie Metcalf, who played Roseanne's sister, Jackie on Roseanne has signed on as a recurring role on The Big Bang Theory playing Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother.

I guess Chuck Lorre is going for a real Roseanne Reunion. :)

Wow, this really is Roseanne: The next generation. They have 3 regulars from Roseanne on this show already. next we'll be seeing Roseanne as the obnoxious grandmother, and John Goodman as the drunken neighbor-LOL

This is now officially confirmed. Someone was at the taping of the 4th show on September 12, and Laurie Metcalf was playing Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother.

It was also leaked on The Live From The Web Carpet CBS special, the host mentioned Laurie Metcalf as Jim Parsons mother and Simon Helberg commented on working with her.
