It would be great to have a serious hit sitcom again.
Could somebody tell me the date and time it is premiering so I can watch it?
I hate missing pilots...

That would be great but those two shows lasted 11 seasons. I think if this show lasts between 5-7 (with the state of the sitcom today), that would be considered successful.

I think you make an excellent point. I could be wrong, but sitcoms just don't have that type of longevity anymore.

And he's jinxed it. lol
I hope it's a success, though. I plan to watch it. I like Kelsey Grammer.

Those there are some pretty strong words. I wish the show the best. I really hope it turns out to be as great as Cheers and Frasier. We need a new "classic" sitcom....The only thing that concerns me is the shows home. FOX has proven itself to be a big network with Dramas (24, House) and Reality shows (American Idol), but I'm curious if they can have a big breakout sitcom. Can "Back To You" be as successful there as it might have been if it were on CBS or NBC? We shall find out...

I think it sounds better if the media says that and not him. I never heard of a actor pumping up a show he will be starring on.

in the UK channel 4 had recently bought the rights to this show and i will be looking forward to see how well this fares. i don't think that its ideal to compare this with kelsey's other hits cheers and frasier, but rather we ought to judge this as whether it is as good a show as he puts it. post-frasier and everybody loves raymond, i'm sure there are certain people who expect that both kelsey and patricia will do well and i'm hoping it does.
as buffyboy right points out, as sitcom fans ourselves it has been a long while since we have had a decent and successful US sitcom on our screens as the reality tv shows and dramas have constantly ruled and taken over the tv schedules. if it becomes successful, hopefully this would be a wake up call for more sitcom writers and producers, both experienced and novice, to bring this genre back to life

I'm sure it'll be successful . . . I'm just worried about what'll happen when it's up against Pushing Daisies . . . probably down in viewers a bit, but not a huge loss.
Also, a little question. About how many viewers do you think should be watching each week to consider it a success nowadays? I would say anything over 10 million, but that might even be a bit too high.

Yes, "Pushing Daisies" could be a problem, but it shouldn't be THAT bad. The audience may be divided because these 2 shows are so different from each other.
I'm not sure about all that ratings crap, but 10 million does sound pretty successful. "Two and a Half Men" is America's #1 sitcom, and that finished off with 14 million viewers last year.

I sure hope so - I've watched all three episodes so far and have enjoyed each one more than the last. The actors have chemistry and the writing is funny. Here's to a nice long run!!

I'm not so sure this show will last long. I'm not trying to be negative or anything, but If Fox decides to cancel Til Death, which is doing even worse than Back to You right now, then they won't have anything to pair up Back to You with, unless they bring in a new sitcom next season, or they hold off BTY until midseasons and pair it up with the AI results show.

I think the show will do just fine. It actually did almost 11 million for the premiere. That's almost 1.5 million more viewers than originally thought, and I'll bet people are still taping it. It's one of the shows currently with the most DVR playback. This is great news!:)
