Back to You's Kelsey Grammer Quit Acting To Nurse Sick Wife

Back To You star Kelsey Grammar gave up acting for two years to nurse his wife back to health after she almost died in Italy. The actor turned his back on a number of major career opportunities between 2004 and 2006 after his wife Camille was treated for a potentially-fatal gastrointestinal disorder.

He tells Parade magazine, "She nearly died. She picked up something while in Italy and was hospitalised for weeks. It was horrible. Camille was given last rites. I quit working for two years because she was so sick. But she is so much better now. Camille is everything to me."

I read several years ago about Camille Grammer's chronic GI problems (including IBS) and am so glad to hear she is doing better.

What a wonderful husband. His wife must be susceptible to picking up things which cause major problems in her GI tract. They were on Howard Stern's show way back, around 2000, and Kelsey and Camille were telling Howard that she has severe GI problems. I guess when she picked up a bacteria in Italy, her system couldn't take it, since it was compromised to begin with. The poor woman. I'm glad she's better.

Glad to know she's doing a lot better now. I think Kelsey has had more than enough heartache in his life.
