Forever Trevor
Starring Elijah Kelley as Trevor Collins, an college-aged African-American young man who was put up for adoption when he was 18 months by his then-unfit, teen mother and was adoption when he was 8 years old by a middle-classed Causasian family. Trevor's adoptive parents, Jim and Renee Collins (Stephen Collins, Debra Jo Rupp) live with their two biological children, April (Lauren Collins) and Matt (Jean-Luc Bilodeau), and their adopted son, Trevor. Jim works as a pharmacist at the local pharmacy/drug store. Renee works as a travel agent at the local travel agency. April and Trevor attend the same community college, but different majors: Trevor's in the EMT Paramedic program, and April's in the Administrative Assistant program. Matt is a high school senior, who has no idea what he wants to do after he graduates. Trevor's girlfriend of 6 months, Denise Campbell (Monique Coleman) is attending the same college as April and Trevor, but is in the same Administrative Assistant program as April. After being with the Collins family for the past 12 years and feeling as if they were his biological family after all these years, Trevor is thrown into a dilemma when he is contacted by his birthmother, Vicky Graham (Tempestt Bledsoe), who wants to explain a few things to her son (whom she gave up when he was an infant), and Trevor soon finds out that Vicky had another son four years after having him, but kept him--which causes Trevor to want to meet/get to know his long-lost brother, Kevin (Kyle Massey). However, he still feels the Collinses are his family now and he'd rather still be apart of their lives and family, but wants to get to know Vicky and Kevin as well.
