It has a bad cheesy vibe and the two lead actors overact. The premise has potential but it's being managed by producers and directors who are no longer relevant. Kelsey and Patricia are has-beens and the latter one can't even act.
Oh, and didn't NBC try this already with "Good Morning Miami," which actually wasn't too bad.

It may and it may not, we shall see.

It will premiere well. It launches a week before the actual season and won't have any competition. Then the week after it will drop obviously...question is how much? Dancing with the Stars will be up against it for week 2 of BTY, then the new drama Pushing Daisies on ABC, which is fantastic, will start week 3 of BTY.

It may not be a ratings blockbuster, but I do hope that it will do well enough to stick around awhile.

I know a lot of people who are looking forward to this show. Grammer and Heaton are both top-notch, multiple Emmy award-winning actors who starred in extremely successful, long running shows.
Yeah, this show has everything going against it.

The only thing this show has going against it is it's on FOX. They don't have the best track record with sitcoms and they've cancelled more promising sitcoms than probably any other network in the past 10 years.

You hit the nail on the head right there my friend. I think this show is different though, because...
1. It's all star cast and crew
2. Fox already committed at least 13 episodes

I don't think that really has anything to do with. There were many shows with an allstar cast that were'nt exactly ratings blockbustters. Look at 8 Simple Rules. That had 2 sitcom veterans, John Ritter and Katey Sagal, just like BTY, but that usually ranked around 30th-40th place each week. I think it depends on who actually wants to see it.

What it does have going for it is that it's up against 2 new series...the big drawback though is that the other 3 series are 60 minutes and if you make a commitment to BTY then you're also stuck with Til Death or join another show in progress.

I'll watch to see what it's like but I probably won't like it so it only really leaves The Simpsons and Don't Forget the Lyrics to watch.

I see your point. I always thought 8SR did well in the ratings.

I'll give FOX credit though, they are promoting the hell out of this show.

True, they are really hanging their hat on the success of this show.

I was just looking at the NBC schedule and found out that The Bionic Woman is going to be airing on the same day and time as BTY. Those were the two new shows I was looking forward to seeing the most and they're on at the same time.

Isn't TBW on at 9 and BTY on at 8. I was going to give them both a try too at least until I see how good or bad they are.:

You're right, BTY comes on at 8. For some reason, I assumed it came on at 9. I thought American Idol aired at 8 on Wednesdays, but I guess that show doesn't come back until January. The FOX schedule is very confusing.

For a minute there I thought maybe one of the networks switched the times again. I hate it when they do that. Fox drives me crazy. They have a fall and a winter schedule but they never stick to it.

Oh, and didn't NBC try this already with "Good Morning Miami," which actually wasn't too bad. They aren't has beens! Come on now Patty stared in a hit sitcom, wining two emeys. Kelsey two hit sitcoms, emeys and produced Girlfriends! Will this show make it I don't know? People are use to seeing Patty as Debra and Kelsey as Frasier. Sometimes people have a hard time excepting actors playing new roles outside of the role that made them famous and won't except them playing anyting else.

I agree. How can they be has=beens when they were on two of the last big sitcoms on TV?

Good point. I never really thought about this before, but it might be a little hard for me to get into Kelsey's character on this show at first cause to me, he'll always be Frasier Crane. He played the same character for 20 years and I never really saw him in anything besides Frasier and Cheers. I'm sure I'll get used to his character after a while cause Kelsey is a great actor.
I doubt I'll have that problem with Patrcia though. I saw her in the remake of "The Goodbye Girl" and "The Engagement Ring" and she was pretty good in both of those movies and it made me forget about Debra Barone.
