LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michael Rapaport, who starred on the Fox comedy "The War at Home" during the past two seasons, is joining the cast of NBC's "My Name Is Earl" as a recurring character.
When it returns for a third season in the fall, "Earl" will find Earl Hickey (Jason Lee) in prison. Rapaport will play a fellow prisoner.
Rapaport's casting stems from a new development deal with the show's producer, 20th Century Fox Television. Under the pact, the studio will develop a project for the actor targeted for the 2008-09 season.
His other TV credits include a stint on "Friends," where he played Phoebe's cop boyfriend.
