Casino Royale has received tons of praise for turning Bond gritty and hard again, but apparently it won’t stay that way. Daniel Craig spoke to the Express about the next film in the franchise and told them that they want to return to making James Bond funny.

Craig says, “They [the producers] just want more gags. The next one’s going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and ***** Galore style gags.” It’ll be a return to the comedy that Roger Moore brought to the franchise in the 70s. “The Bond jokes will be flipped on their heads,” says Craig. I guess that means he’ll tell them standing on his head?

I thought Roger Moore did a great job as 007 and I love the Bond films he was in, but I also loved the more grittier approach that Casino Royale took and I would like to see the films continue to explore that a little more.
