I hadn't heard of this before . . . must've been related to that contract Gleason had with Buick which led to that "Classic 39" season. And most certainly in the middle thereof.

I read quite some time ago, that because of the Buick endorsement that was the only kind of cars that Audrey Meadows would buy/drive for the rest of her life. I guess celebrities are loyal to certain brands if they give/provide excellent service. Before Jack Lord (Hawaii Five-O) broke into acting, he was a Cadillac salesman. Legend has it that 'Gary Cooper' was one of his customers and was responsible for that needed inspiration for Jack to choose an acting career. Even though he left the Cadillac career behind him, Mr. Lord continued buying/driving Cadillacs for the rest of his life... I would really like to know what year and model Audrey's last Buick was...I do think I heard/read that it was red! :)

That's an interesting story about Jack Lord and Gary Cooper, Carol...yes, if anyone knows what she asked about regarding Audrey's last Buick, please let us know! :wave:
