View Full Version : Not that sturdy of an apartment... and a busy hallway too!

I got a kick out of looking at a specific part of the lost episode "The Next Champ," found on volume five. The set falls apart toward the end of the 38-minute episode (to be exact, at 34:13). You can see some of the crew behind it, completely oblivious to the fact that the Kramden apartment's walls are going! Luckily, the cameraman sees what's happening and quickly shifts the focus of the camera! Still, there's a good 3 or 4 seconds where it looks as if the Kramden apartment is going to fall apart (although the apartment usually looks like it's going to fall apart anyway).

Good eye, I actually have this on the blooper list on my website. I haven't seen the episode in a while, but if I remember correctly, Jackie and the rest of the cast on stage didn't even notice what was happening behind them. Those walls were bound to come apart eventually, being that they were made of cardboard and the way Jackie would slam that door when he walked in...it was a disaster waiting to happen! Definitely one of my favorite bloopers though, I'm glad you brought it up.

I watched that one just last week. I'm suprised Jackie allowed that one to air. Or did he not have the authority to make that decesion?

Well the Lost Episodes aired live, so there really wasn't much he could've done. Besides, Jackie loved spontaneity, I'm sure he got a good laugh out of that one after the show.

I love how the guy sort of freezes like "oh hey I'm on TV!"
