"Broadcasting My Life"

30-minute multicamera sitcom

Premise: A woman (SAM) in her late twenties is a reporter/editorialist for the Boston Globe, a fictional newspaper. She has to go through life with her 2 coreporters (WILL AND MELONY) giving her grief, advise, and romance, and her mother (CHRISTINE) always getting in the way of things after she moves in with her, always seeming unsatisfied with Sam. Sam's sister (STEPH) on the other hand announces that she's pregnant in the pilot episode, causing Sam to want to have a baby as well. She always wants her coworkers to take her seriously and have a good date once in awhile.

In the third season, Sam, Will, and Melony quit there job trying to find work. They finally audition for investigative reporters for a brand new Evening News Show, and land the jobs, meeting new people along the way. Sam finally finds the love of her life, and also finds out she's pregnant in the fourth season. For the rest of the series, Sam raises the baby on her own when her boyfriend leaves her, with Christine eventually moving out to make room for the baby.

Similar to "Murphy Brown," every episode of the series features at least 1 minute of a classic Motown or Soul song, with that song also being the title of the episode. Such songs are ones by Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, etc.

Characters:

Sam Latone - main character
Steph Latone - sister, married, 2 children (one on the way)
Christine Latone - mother of girls, widowed, old-fashioned, a busybody
Will Chaden - coreporter, offers advice, has a "crush" on Sam

I find it to be a pretty good sitcom. Only real thing I would add is well perhaps, adding an actor/actress to the characters, so we can get a good mental image of each of them. Personally, I would recommend Sam's character being played by Sara Rue (Less Than Perfect), Steph's character being played by Christina Applegate (Married With Children, Jesse), Christine's character being played by Candice Bergin (Murphy Brown), Will's character being played by Sean Maguire (The Class), and Melony's character being played by Andrea Parker (Less Than Perfect). Just a few suggestions, take 'em or leave 'em. Its up to you. :) keep up good work.

You know, it's funny, because immediately when I thought of Christine's character, I thought of Candice Bergen. It seems to be the kind of uptight, perfect actor I need. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions. I"m still working on more episodes, and even a script for the Pilot episode, and I hope to post soon!
