it's because TV LAND along with NICK AT NITE, and other cable channels; long ago "sold out" and have shifted their programing to apeal to audiences under 40.:(
It pisses everyone off, but sadly, theres nothing we can do about it.

Totally agree!
ILL is on a ton -5:30am; 11:00am-12:00pm and from 10:00am-12:00pm on weekends...I'm not complaining because I love that show as well but they could re-schedule some shows and find an hour to play the Honeymooners. There's definitely an audience for it.

I love I Love Lucy. I think it's great that they show it on Tvland but I do agree about The Honeymooners. Even though I own the dvd set, I still think it'll be great to see them on television. Now they only show the New Years marathon(which only contains the classic39) on channel 11 but that's the only time you can catch them on t.v. :( Years ago channel 11 aired the lost episodes from 1:00-2:00am. I used to stay up late to watch those and I loved them. I wish The Honeymooners would come back on t.v. It is definitly a classic show right up there with I Love Lucy.

^ Agree! They could re-place one of the many slots MASH or Good Times is on with the Honeymooners.
Eh, at least if we can't have the Honeymooners we do have I Love Lucy! I'd be lost if I didn't see that show in the afternoon. :D

How true you all are. It realy steams me everyday when I look at the shows they are playing. I wonder how we could make emough of a riot to get the show on the air again? Maybe we should concentrate on a different channel tha tv land?

What channels does the show play on currently? Is Goodlife the only one? Does channel 11 in NY still play it yearly? Do they play the classic or lost ones? My Pal Jesse Goldberg just put together a great video using the 39 and his Honeymoonie song. I think it will put people in the mood to watch the show again. It would make an awesome commercial. I think that CBS should put the show on a national level even if it's in the wee hours of the night. I think we should start an Army and take a train to their main headquarters and demand that they get the greatest show of all time back on the air again! One of these days POW! Right in the kisser!

In So Cal KDOC channel 56 airs the classic 39 weeknights at 10:30. WWME channel 23 in Chicago airs it Monday-Saturday at 11pm and the classic 39 also airs in Canada on The Comedy Network Sunday mornings at 11:30. I don't know about other cities.

Wow! I had no idea that the classic 39 was still airing. Thanks a bunch for the info.

As far as future audiences not having the opportunity to see a pioneer of television, I am dismayed that the show does not have the on-air distribution it once enjoyed. There are some shows that should never leave the airwaves because of their iconic status and The Honeymooners certainly applies. OTOH, twenty five years ago, when I was trying to maneuver a loop antenna to get even a snowy picture from the late, lamented WKBS-TV in the hopes of recording the audio on my cassette recorder, I never dreamed someday I would own the classic 39 in pristine form to watch whenever the mood struck. I never even knew of Lost Episodes and figured aside from the Trip to Europe series, I would never enjoy the other color remakes. Nor did I ever dream to have the opportunity to share thoughts of all things Kramden with others whose passion for the show ran as deep or even deeper than mine. All things considered, how far HAVE we come?

I agree that it should be on TVLand. i'm glad that I purchased the classic 39 but I would like to see some of the other episodes that I haven't seen since the early 80's on WPIX-11 in New York. I remember staying up late at night to watch it after The Odd Couple in the early 80's. Sometimes I would fall asleep and it would be going off when I woke up:mad: Does it still come on in New York?

We've definitely come a long way, but if you ask me, there's still a long way to go. I have to admit though, Honeymooners fans have got to be the least spoiled out of all other sitcom fans, at least we still have material to look forward to. Don't get me wrong though, I'd rather have it all now than wait!
Does it still come on in New York?
They still have the New Year's Eve marathon every year, but that's about it.

Thanks. I guess the marathon is better than nothing. that's more than what we have on tv now.
