There are some long-time friendships on sitcoms where one person continually acts like they are better than their friend by using them or putting them down. The dominant friend is usually selfish:
Lucy/Ethel
Hayden Fox/Luther Van Damme
Ralph Kramden/Ed Norton
Fred Flintstone/Barney Rubble
Dorothy, Blanche & Sophia/Rose
Thelma Harper/Iola Boylen
Roseanne/Crystal
Any others?

Tony Nelson/Roger Healey- I Dream of Jeannie
Roger was always jealous of Tony because he had a genie to do anything for him. I'm sure he thought that Tony was better than him because of it but for whatever reason, they stayed friends and were there for each other. :) A most interesting friendship to say the least. :D
Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeny, Shirley was the brains and Laverne was the brawn.

^ Great minds think alike! I was just going to mention Fred Sanford/Grady Wilson. Another one would be George Jefferson/Tom Willis.

That sounds exactly like the frienship I have with my friend Jeff. I'm the dominant friend who acts like I'm better than him. Maybe we should have a sitcom based on our lives.

Jenny Piccolo/Joanie Cunningham -- Happy Days
Jenny is such a different girl than Joanie, I just can't imagine Joanie being her friend, but I guess that makes it appealing for Joanie.
