It's official. They closed down the Jackie Gleason Theater of Performing Arts. Of course the doors won't be closed forever, but the name will be. It kinda steams me, this whole thing. You would think that they could have at least waited until his 20th anniversary passed around before changing the name. I feel that they should have put together some type of show or dedication ceremony for this transition. They seemed very interested in the plans Ralph & I were making, but didn't want to be involved in anything. Sheesh! What grouches! Money, Money, Money. That's what it's all about. No respect! Don't steam me, don't steam me! CAUSE I'M already STEAMED!:angryfire : Am I the only one who feels this way?
And Away He Goes!
I miss ya Pal O' Mine,

Wow, I can't believe no one has responded, given its historical significance.
Rather than try and erase its existence, it could have been declared a landmark. Sad. At least we still have the Ralph Kramden statue at the Port Authority in NYC.

I just hope that the new tennants don't damage or lose any of the collectables that are there. That would be a real shame. I wish I could have made it over there prior to the closing. I will deffinately check out the statue when I make it to NJ. It must be impressive to see it in person. His gravesite is so beautiful. At least they can't do anything with that. It's surely a "must see" for anyone traveling to Miami.
