The makers of TV hit Entourage have denied claims by Mark Wahlberg's former bodyguard that they cast actors according to race.

Entourage, which stars Adrian Grenier as a rising Hollywood star, is inspired by Wahlberg's early years in Tinseltown, when he brought his friends from Massachusetts to share his newfound fame.

African-American Leonard Taylor worked for Wahlberg "back in the day" and accuses the makers of Entourage of failing to include any minority groups in the show.

He tells the New York Post's Page Six column, "There are no black people on the show. There are no black or Latino bodyguards, like Mark used to have--it's a slap in the face. People always ask me, 'Why is there no character based on you in Entourage?'"

However, a representative for the HBO show, responds, "The show is only loosely based on Mark Wahlberg's experience. There aren't really any bodyguards, and as for being multicultural, Turtle (one of the main characters) is dating an African-American."

Whatever. This crap is dumb. Since when does a TV show have to include a person from every single race in order to not be called raicst? Why can't people just allow art to be art?

i think putting an african american in as the stereotypical bodygaurd would be pretty rasict... not to mention lame. let's not forget loyd, ari, and marvin (the accountant charecter that went no where) are all minorities btw.

now the show is infact sexist. there's only been one female charecter that hasn't slept with the main charecters - but like the previous poster said, let's let art be art.

Well, "back in the day" Whalberg also referred to himself as Marky Mark and he travelled around with his "posse" known as the Funky Bunch.

Do we need to relive that wonderful time too?

;)

Sounds to me like this guy is miffed he's no longer on Wahlberg's payroll, and is looking for a handout.

This is the laugh of the the year, this sour grape fool. Entourage is loooosssley based on Wahlberg's life. It's not a bio-pic. They don't have any bodyguards on the show. The "star" of the show is just on the rise.

I'm sure that's what it is.
