Help! Who recorded the original version of "You're 16 You're Beautiful and You're Mine" ? The Beatles remade it in the 60's. Who recorded it in the 50's? I have googled and Ringo Starr is all that I come up with.

Steve M. & I had talked about this before because I thought that Ringo sang the original. I think I remember Steve told me it was a guy named Johnny Burnette??

Yes, that's it. I just found it myself after an intense search! Johnny Burnette was born in 1934 and died in a boating accident in 1964. His recording of this song hit number 8 on the pop charts in 1960. How I found him was I logged onto Morpheus and typed in the song title. After about 5 Ringo Starr's his name popped up. Well, that mystery is solved. Thanks Phoebe!

Yeah, I knew that it was a "Rock-a-Billy" song but I didn't know who recorded it. Anyway, Ringo being a big Country-Western fan recorded this song and also Honey Don't and Act Naturally. Paul and John wrote "What Goes On" which is "countryish" just for Ringo.
