At Rotten Tomatoes, when asked about a possible return to Austin Powers in the future, here's what Myers had to say.

“There is one that we have an idea about. The only thing I will say is that it's entirely from Dr. Evil's point of view. It would be the first of his trilogy.”

When asked if a trilogy might be too daunting of a task, Myers replied, “That was a joke. I just love the bluster of saying that it's a trilogy. Yes, it's a twenty-five part series. No it's not. I'm just joking."

Myers did also go on to confirm that The Love Guru would be his next movie and that it would start filming in August. I'm open to a fourth Austin Powers, as I really think Mike Myers is one of the only original comedic actors and filmmakers in Hollywood these days, and he could pull something great off.

I loved the last Austin Powers movie, it was the best of the three.

i think they are milking this francise now. 3 is enough but 4, 5 and 6? austin powers would get more tedious, repetitive and predictable, and you'd ask yourself it's all been done before

Agreed.

Mike Myers is a funny guy, but he needs to do something else. With all the $$$ he made from the Austin Powers and Shrek films, he can afford to.

exactly, i mean he needs to move on from austin powers, in the same way he did when he did the wayne's world movies. i'd like to see him in another comedy, or like robin williams, even branch out into drama films

Meyers has tried drama with "54," where he put on a fake nose to play a real life character, but the movie and his performance met with mixed reviews.

I have no problem with him sticking to comedies, but if you look at his filmography from the last several years, doing the voice of Shrek and bit parts in a few other movies are all he's done.

Okay, he did "Cat In The Hat" in that time too, but the less said about that movie the better.

He states that he was kidding about it being a trilogy. I wouldn't mind seeing a 4th, providing that they have a decent story to tell.

I'm glad that he is thinking of doing a fourth. It's about time.
