I should've done this last Thursday, but Jason Earles, surprisingly, celebrated his 30th b-day on April 26th. Not bad for a guy who was playing a band geek in a 'American Pie' made-for-video sequel and is now playing a 17-year old teen on a Disney sitcom. WOW!

He's 30???

I've heard that before. Of course, Disney is covering it up saying he's like 21 or something.

Wikipedia states that he was born on April 26, 1977 in San Diego. I don't know if Wikipedia is credible, but it states that. But here are other examples of actors in their 20s playing teenaagers:

- Amy Davidson was 24 when she played the role of 15-year-old Kerry Hennessy on "8 Simple Rules."

- Monique Coleman was 25 when she played the role of 17-year-old Taylor McKessie in "High School Musical."

- This June, Ashley Tisdale turns 22. She still plays 16-year-old Maddie Fitzpatrick on "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody."

If there are anymore examples, feel free to post.

I think this is all wrong and people just believe everything they read on the internet. I don't truly believe that any of these people are the actual ages that were stated previously and I won't until I hear it from that person's mouth.

I'm not first to believe he's 30 either, but knowing he is on a Disney show, it is easier to believe it. It seems like the network just attracts older actors to play teen roles, in almost every show they have on.

Yeah, but usually the ages of the older actors are close enough to the ages of the teen roles they portray. For example, Ashley Tisdale, who's at least 20, is just a few years from 16 which I believe is the age of the role she plays as Maddie from the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. But Jason is far from that.

Thanks for that info, 8SRLVR. Well, I stress the phrase, at least, meaning she's 20 or over (over 20-which I know is the case for her. LOL!). I know she was born in '85, but I just wasn't sure whether she was still 21 or just turned 22 which was the reason I said she was at least 20. And I know that she just had her birthday on 7/2 according to the imdb, which was last Mon, so Happy Belated birthday to her.

But my point is that unlike Jason Earles, Ashley, who's just barely in her 20's, isn't that far from her teen years which is the decade of the role she plays on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

But are all these actors that desperate to get on a kid's show? And why can't Disney just hire actors that are the same age as their character? Few examples of this are MIley Cyrus, who's 14, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who are also almost 14, and Kyle Massey, who I believe is 15.

Look at producer Peter Engel, for his teen tv shows, he made about 8 of them, most of the time he used people who were older than teen age. Look at Elizabeth Berkley she was like 3 years or so older than the rest of them and was already out of school when they moved from Indianapolis jr. high school to California high school.

Califonia Dreaming comes to mind as most of the cast was in their 20's playing high school teens.

Anson Williams and Donnie most, were alot older than Ronnie Howard and they were playing high school kids.

Tracey Gold was older than Kirk Cameroon in real life, yet she played the younger sister to Kirk.

Head of the class comes to mind as another show that used more people who were older than a teenager playing a teen ager.

Welcome Back Cotter is another one.
