Sheri Moon, 36

Recent horror films: Grindhouse (2007), The Devil's Rejects (2005), Toolbox Murders (2004), House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

Upcoming: Rob Zombie's Halloween remake (Aug. 31).

Most gruesome scene: "The Devil's Rejects, in which I'm in the motel room doing this Chinese-Japanese dance, which is funny, gruesome, sick and twisted. That sort of depicts Baby's psychosis, a hint of what's coming next, me singing little nursery rhymes to these people, and they end up getting shot and mutilated."

Back story: A former dancer and model, Moon is married to punk rocker/ director Zombie.

Why horror?: "You get this tingly feeling in your stomach - scare, shock. Half the time I'm closing my eyes, but it's like going to an amusement park."

Jaimie Alexander, 23

Recent thrillers: The Other Side (2006), Rest Stop (2006)

Upcoming: Hallowed Ground (fall 2007)

Most gruesome scene: "Getting my finger bitten off in Rest Stop. I stuck my hand in and had the guy grab my finger real tight, and I had to be, like, pleading for my life. The weirdest feeling was having my
index finger taped all the way down so it looked like a nub."

Back story: This South Carolina native moved to Los Angeles to act and last year snagged a role as Caitlin Porter in the Fox telenovela Watch Over Me, which stars Catherine Oxenberg. In June, she will make her debut on the hit ABC Family series Kyle XY.

Why horror?: "I'm not a huge fan of horror films. I have a hard time watching them because I get really scared, and that's the main reason I took the part - to conquer a fear, even though it didn't work and it actually scared me more. But I really like the physical side of horror films, the jumping off the buildings - that and the pure vulnerability."

Andrea Bogart, 27

Recent horror films: Axe (2006), Dark Ride (2006), Dark Wolf (2003)

Upcoming: Something's Wrong in Kansas, Nite Tales: The Movie

Most gruesome scene: "Dark Ride. In my death scene, I was actually decapitated, so I had a head mold made, and that was a pretty bloody, gory mess, I would say."

Back story: Bogart is a dancer from Missouri who broke into movies in 2002.

Why horror?: "I have fun doing them and hope they will be a steppingstone."

Mercedes McNab, 27

Recent horror films: Hatchet (2006)

Upcoming: Dark Reel (October), XII, Medium Raw

Most gruesome scene: "In XII , I get degloved, when they cut the skin off your face and attach it to other people. That was the most fun for me because I had this animatronic head - obviously I can't get my real skin peeled off; they don't pay me enough for that - and I got to feel all the fake blood and guts."

Back story: A native of British Columbia, McNab is best known as Harmony on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel . Her big-screen debut was in The Addams Family in 1991, playing a bit part as a Girl Scout.

Why horror?: "It's just fun, you know? There's generally a lot of action, and it's not so emotional that you wind up taking it home with you, and that's a nice relief."

Tiffany Shepis, 27

Recent horror films:
Abominable (2006), Corpses (2004), Home Sick (2004), Bloody Murder 2 (2003), Death Factory (2002)

Upcoming: Dark Reel (October), Nympha (October)

Most gruesome scene: "The scene in Home Sick where I am drugged out of my mind and find my mother dead on the floor. And instead of calling 911 like normal people, I decide to get on the floor and cry a bit, laugh a bit and play in her blood - until the killer comes, and I have a very gruesome death with a sledgehammer."

Back story: A product of the Troma Films school of low-budget B horror movies, Shepis was cast in Tromeo & Juliet at 15. She later caught the eyes of E! executives and was hired as a correspondent for Sex on the Riviera and Wild on the Riviera.

Why horror?: "It's so much more fun than doing a silly romantic comedy in which you laugh and giggle and share ice cream."

Cerina Vincent, 28

Recent thrillers: Toxic (2007), Seven Mummies (2006), It Waits (2005), Intermedio (2005), Murder-Set-Pieces (2004), Cabin Fever (2002).

Upcoming: Return to House on Haunted Hill (fall 2007).

Most gruesome scene: "The leg-shaving scene from Cabin Fever. " Vincent's character sits in a bathtub, shaving her legs, only to discover she is shaving a bloody scab on her leg that is a sign of the infectious flesh-eating disease that claims the film's victims.

Back story: Vincent is a former Miss Nevada Teen USA (1996) who began acting as Maya, the Yellow Power Ranger. She subsequently did a series of TV guest spots on series including Malcolm in the Middle.

Why horror?: "It's like when you are a kid playing hide-and-seek, just with special effects and blood. There's a whole different energy. When you're on the set and supposed to be hiding in the woods and there really isn't a monster behind you, you work from a different place."
