I was watching the Jeffersons, That's my mama, and Chico and the Man on Saturday and I noticed that certain lines seemed like they were poking fun at Sanford and Son. examples
On the Jeffersons-"George tells a guy in one episode that he was a Dumb Furniture mover-"
on That's my Mama-"Earl the mailman tells one of his friends that he looks like he belongs in a junkyard"
On Chico and the man-"Chico tells Ed, this is the last time we get tires from sanford and son"
So all of these statments were made when Sanford and Son was at it's best which was the 74-75 season. So does it seem like the writers were poking fun at the show or Am i OverAnalyzing?-lol

I think it was just a coincidence.

CATM actually mentioned the name of the show, which was strange considering that there was never a crossover attempt by NBC when both shows aired back to back

I think you're looking into something too much and trying to make it fit a particular show.

NBC may not have crossed over CATM and Sanford & Son, but there is a possibility that they were trying to make a connection between the characters since CATM and S&S were both set in L.A. and at some point, the characters crossed paths - such as Ed buying tires at Fred's junkyard. Entirely possible, which is why Ed made that reference. Now I'm overanalyzing lol

In a "Benson" episode, Benson says something like (as he is looking at a photo), "That's not me. That's Redd Foxx." Or something like that--I'll have to go back and watch the episode again. I don't think he meant it in a bad way, just that the picture probably made him look older or something.

There was no crossover attempt because the shows were owned by different studios. That would never have happened back in '74.

I agree. Solomon, you know we have told you before abt over analyzing. But it's ok.
I saw a show the other night and the character said something abt them having "good times" in their "house" and what a "family guy" that guy is.

So all the other crossovers I saw in my life meant both shows were owned by the Same studio?

CATM definitley took a shot at Sanford and Son. The Jefferson episode I don't think that was a shot because Fred and Lamont weren't furniture movers.
