You've probably seen it on more than one show. I know it was done on Amos N' Andy, The Andy Griffith Show and others.

Didn't that happen on that one Brady Bunch episode (the car accident in the store parking lot) when they were in court and Carol was explaining what happened in the parking lot and then Bobby told it a little differently?

"All in the Family" had an episode in season three, I think, called "Everybody Tells the Truth" in which Mike and Archie tell very different versions of what happened when the refrigerator had to be repaired, but in the end it's Edith who knows what really happened.

OMG! this is soooo weird but... I just finished, I mean just, finished watching "Diogenes, Won't You Please Go Home?" an episode of GIlligan's Island... and anyway, Gilligan had one version, then Mr. Howell, The Skipper, and Ginger relayed their own versions of what 'actually' happened.
great laughs! :D

Another good one is "The Night the Roof Fell In" from season two of "The Dick Van Dyke Show".

It's not really a sitcom but that happend on Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends once.

It's the one where the clown guy who rhymes all the time supossedly murdered someone, but it turns out he was just afraid of loving his past children.

The sitcom Good Times had an excellent example of what you are looking for. The episode is called, "Where there's Smoke" It is about a hole that was burned in the couch and there are about four different views about how the burning hole got there.

All in the Family -- Archie, Michael, and Edith each give their version of the visit of the two refrigerator repair technicians.

In the "I Love Lucy" episode "The Courtroom," the Ricardos and Mertzes tell completely different stories to the judge about what happened to the TV set.

There was an episode of The Odd Couple in which Oscar, Blanche and Felix each give an account of the night Oscar and Blanche broke up.

There was an ep of Full House that aired where DJ and Kimmy went to some frat party (I believe this aired during the last season). Kimmy proceeds to get plastered, but insists that she was cool, collected, intelligent and that everyone liked her. DJ tells the real story -- that Kimmy was making a drunken fool of herself and even got sick. That's more of a serious example; probably a good one for a teacher to use in class.

There was also a Partridge Family ep where some guy sent the Partridges to court (their bus collided with the guy's car, and he faked a neck injury to get some more $$$). Smelling a rat, Danny hires a beautiful girl (played by Farrah Fawcett!) to drop a hanky right by the lying guy. He picks it up, showing no pain whatsoever. Danny snaps a picture, and shows it to the court. The Partridges are not held liable.

I think there was a "lost episode" (really; a sketch) of THE HONEYMOONERS that used that same plot; but changed slightly. It was Ralph and Ed who told conflicting versions.

there was a MASH episode once where Hawkeye was being court-martiled for hitting Frank; and Hawkeye, B.J., and Frank each told a different version of the events leading up to it.
