who agrees with me that the idea of introducing new characters, change of scenery, further twists in the plot and storylines later on a sitcom is the nail in the coffin? because i for one, don't like it. as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it, and yet there have been many sitcoms which have been cancelled party because of additional characters and storylines, which rather than help the story and the show progress, it instead puts a lot of it's viewers off and it's these people of whom that got used to and grown accustomed to the show, characters, humour etc

It seems like most of the time they do this to try to boost a shows ratings,
only it generally backfires on them.

Sometimes having many new characters smacks of "potential spinoff". Yuck. Also, many times new characters in sitcoms are kids. That makes it worse!! puke:
